Apr 13th 2010 1:19PM I hope all of the nay-sayers on this post will do research on their own about animal abuse, including the Circus. More and more research is being done that validates the theory that all animals, not just the human kind, are sentient and able to feel empathy which is what we humans have based our belief of being "smarter" or "above" other species. I am not a vegan; I still eat meat, eggs, butter, etc. but do try to be concious of where I buy my meat/eggs/butter. I hope this gets posted as I have tried to post other times and it never comes up.

As to the 74% of Americans supposedly who did not want this I question the %. Mar 23rd 2010 2:44PM If you are single and make around 14thousand a year you will not be "fined" you will be able to get a subsidy to help pay. For a family of four making around 29 thousand they will not pay a "fine" and will get a subsidy. It is only those who make over 250 thousand a year who will see a "tax" increase. For those making that kind of money they are probably not paying very much in taxes anyway as they hire an accountant to be sure they don't pay very much. I am deeply saddened by the horrific things being said about our President and I for one believe it is race based along with the "elite" who don't want to pay their fair share of taxes nor help their fellow Americans pull themselves up out of poverty and/or have health care.

Mar 21st 2010 6:15PM I too have been "not posted" for my comments...lets see if this one gets posted. Stupak is wanting to "save lives" but his vote against health care reform is a vote for death for those of us who have had to deal with death because of no health care coverage. Shame on all who are against health care for all by sending us to the emergency room for what care we can get...but if we are diagnosed with a life threatening illness we are shipped out the door because we can't pay the exorbinent fees for treatment..so DEATH!

Mar 12th 2010 2:18PM All who are being mean and nasty in the debates on Glenn Beck or other issues should go to Civility Project.org. It was started by a Republican and an evangelical who wants civility again. We can discuss our difference's without reducing to name calling. I am a liberal (Democrat)and a Pagan and I have signed on as I too believe we have became too disagreeable in our discussions. Glenn Beck has the right to free speech. If I don't agree (I don't) with him I can choose to change the channel. It is heartbreaking to see all the hate being spewed on these posts, on news channels, and in everyday life.

Mar 1st 2010 5:19AM What can be said by the anti-choice conservitives about the attoney general of South Carolina who said that his grandmother taught him to not feed stray animals because they can then breed...this was said in referance to the children on lunch programs at their schools...other wise don't feed the children so they will die and not be able to breed. How many of the anti-choice are taking care of the needy children in this world?

Feb 26th 2010 9:09AM Mary, this is exactly what I mean....the few family farmers still able to hang on to their farm do feed us and should not be made fun of. These children have not been taught where their food comes from...most of them probably think it comes from the freezer section at the grocery store. Shame on the parents who have not taught them well.

Feb 26th 2010 9:04AM As a mother of eight, grandmother of fourteen, and great-grandmother of ten, I am deeply saddened by the "nastyness" that pervades our Country. This is not "fun"....it is mean! Can't we return to community values instead of hiding behind our doors? So many children today do not have common courtisy (sp) or good manners.

At least the human animals would have a say in the "sport" unlike the other animals. Peta does more good than any of you can ever understand. For those of you who support any use of four-legged "sports" I say you should join the Army, go to Iraq to get your adreniline fix.
