The Cloud: A Dubai Resort in the Sky {Gadling}

Jun 20th 2007 8:50AM The hotel with the tennis courts is the Burj Al Arab. It's the tallest hotel in Dubai, the person who own's that hotel also owns the Wild Wadi Water park right next to it. Which is the ONLY water park that shoots you UP the water slides in an intertube.

The hotel is 1/4 mile off the shore on a man made island, and can only be toured by appointment. You can't just walk in and take a look like Vegas.

Also Dubai also opened the only indoor Ski/ Snowboard resort hotel just about a year ago. They do have very good ideas. Currently they are working on man made islands that when viewed from space it forms a shape of a palm tree. They are also working on a hotel that is under the water, that is accessible only by mini submarines.

They may be advanced and creative in the hotel industry but they are by far not that advanced in technology...

944 Fifth Avenue, Estate of the Day {Luxist}

Aug 15th 2006 2:45AM Reguardless of how old it is people. Capture the beauty in everything. So it doesn't have the biggest bathroom, or parking isn't so great. It's the beauty of the place that captures people. It may need some work, but in something like that you shouldn't modernize it, just fix it or replace it. And although some people may be rich and flaunt it, or use it for drugs, that doesn't apply to us all.
