'Dangerous Dog' Rufus Honored at the National Dog Show {Pawnation OLD}

Nov 23rd 2010 4:32PM Stories like this are so frustrating. How many times does someone have to say, it's not the breed, it's theindividual dog and/or the owner who trains them?! I've come into contact with some dogs that came from good natured breeds, but dog was a terror.
I would think that *any dog that has successfully passed the certification process for being a therapy dog be allowed wherever therapy dogs are allowed. This should not be a difficult concept.

Baby Argues Her Case Better Than Most Adults {ParentDish}

Apr 27th 2010 1:06PM The baby is just adorable and has quite a personality. However, it is disturbing to see the mom planting the seeds of eating food=love.

Blogging From The American Express Publishing Luxury Summit: Tony Hsieh on Delivering Happiness {Luxist}

Apr 27th 2010 12:46PM I have bought shoes from Zappos for a few years because of their outstanding service, and the incredibly easy process from buying to returning. They are a little quirky, and that helps to put some fun into the mix. Even a year ago, if I asked someone if they had tried buying shoes at Zappos, most people had not heard of them. Now when I mention it, most people know what I'm talking about. They have done a tremendous job.

Fun Super Bowl Facts {AOL Living}

Feb 3rd 2007 12:27PM Just Google "ad costs superbowl 2007" This comes from a CNN headline:
CBS looking for $2.6 million for a 30-second Super Bowl ad - Jan ...

Superbowl is our favorite annual party to throw. We started out 14 years ago with four families, and are now at 12 families. If only the Jets were playing....

How many calories... in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? {That's Fit}

Jan 18th 2007 10:11AM Two tablespoons of regular PB can range in calories from around 190 to 220. (You need a measuring tablespoon to make sure you're using the "correct" amount.) There is a site I use called Sparkpeople that has a tool on keeping track of what you're eating daily and the nutritional analysis of many foods. I love PBJ, and according to how I eat it (2 slices of Wonder 100% whole wheat bread- 130 calories, 2 TBS of Smuckers Creamy PB- 210 calories, and 1 TBS Black Currant preserves- 50 calories) the calorie count is 390. That's much better than the 510 listed above.

Smoke-Free Hotel Rooms {Gadling}

Oct 27th 2006 10:43AM Of course smokers have rights like everyone else, but the pervasiveness of cigarette smoke is unrelenting in many circumstances, hotel rooms being one. Personally, I'm all for the ban. There are plenty of places I haven't been to in years (clubs and bars) because I can't take the smoke. If we go to a restaurant, we wait for an area as far away from smoking as possible. In a few instances, we've left an establishment because the odor was quite noticeable in the area we were to sit. Is that "fair?" I make the best choices for myself and my family that I can working within whatever an establishment's policy is. Whatever the motivation, it's nice to be getting some help from those establishments.

More sponsors dump "Survivor" {AdJab}

Sep 11th 2006 10:23PM I say, big deal that Survivor is dividing along race lines. Noone freaked when contestants were divided up based on gender. Noone started letter writing campaigns when they used a young men, young women, older men, older women division. It's just a different spin on the game. They get flak each season because they have so few minorities, and this time they actually went in search of people rather than just rely on applications.
Personally, my family is looking forward to another season of Survivor.

The Pink Palace, Estate of the Day {Luxist}

Aug 13th 2006 12:55PM I'll agree with the well-named other Wendy. :-) It's a house for heaven sake! Admire it or not, but how can one make judgements on people they've never even met?
