How would you change the Drobo FS? {Engadget}

Aug 2nd 2010 5:55PM @captaind172 You don't trust the WHS? I have run mine for years without any failures. Replaced (upgraded) drives flawlessly and yes, i have done a restore with it. How is the Drobo any better, besides costing hundreds more? I love how they add on a networking unit and act as if it's the second coming of Christ and make you feel lucky you're getting charged more for it. WHS is where it's at.

New Amazon Kindle announced: $139 WiFi-only version and $189 3G model available August 27th in the US and UK {Engadget}

Jul 28th 2010 7:37PM I just got mine a month ago with the Woot deal and for $150, I am really happy. But now I am feeling sort of how iPhone 3G users felt buying one right before the 3GS. Would I have paid $40 more for the new features? I don't know. Oh well, I'll live.

Jul 27th 2010 2:21PM I asked this on a different site but here goes: can this be used for rental units? What if someone steals my sensor? What will the utilities worker think when they see it? I bet they won't know what it is.

Jul 15th 2010 1:01PM @NHAnimator I agree it's bad PR but so is all of this and so were the yellow iMac screens and the short battery life on the Nano and ...

It doesn't matter what Apple/Jobs does - they are untouchable and continue to break sales records year after year.

Swiftpoint's tiny mouse finally up for pre-order, shipping in August {Engadget}

Jul 13th 2010 1:30PM This sounds like a great idea but when I watched the first video, I kept thinking how that does not look comfortable or natural.

Deluxe Reverse Geocache is reusable, really awesome {Engadget}

Jul 9th 2010 4:43PM This (same project) was created about a year (or more) ago by someone who gave it to his friend as a wedding present. It's practically a bit for bit copy.

Motorola Droid X review {Engadget}

Jul 1st 2010 2:08PM It seemed like you really liked the phone then all of a sudden you conclude with "it's not really a must have phone." I guess we are lucky to live in a world where even a phone with little faults should be passed on.

Remote Auxiliary Power System recharges our special forces straight from overhead power lines (video) {Engadget}

Jun 30th 2010 7:17PM I am confused. The guy in the video says there is a razor blade to cut through the insulation (which I assume goes around the whole wire, like well ... a normal wire). Then he says there is a bare metal plate on the hook that touches the bare metal of the wire, completing the circuit. So does that mean wires only have insulation on one side? I thought it went all the way around.
