Credit Cards to Avoid at All Costs {WalletPop}

Mar 6th 2011 10:39AM The worst thing to do is to "get rid of all your cards". The BEST thing to do is PAY OFF ALL YOUR BALANCES, starting with the highest interest cards. THEN, just keep them OPEN, using the minimum required activity to do that. That will keep your credit score from going DOWN, for reducing your "open to buy" levels. Then when you do make a large purchase, such as a new car, you should be able to get the lowest possible interest rate.

Is Target Cheaper Than Walmart? One Survey Says Yes {WalletPop}

Mar 5th 2011 9:26PM I understand that Walmart will match the sale prices of advertised items of other stores, so that means Target would not necessarily be "cheaper", if a customer went to Walmart with the Ads.

How Would You Deal with Charlie Sheen (and Other Problem Employees)? {AOL Small Business}

Mar 2nd 2011 5:31PM Charlie Sheen needs to be committed to a psychiatric facility for evaluation. I don't know who could do that, but that would be the minimum prerequisite for any discussions of him working on this or any other job with public exposure. Look at the "following" he has developed for his "insane" behavior. Our young people don't need to see a "role model" being given a "pass" for the type of behavior that Sheen has exhibited, nor the comments which he has made to the media. They are as much in the public view as his TV program. No company would want to have a "representative" like Sheen, exhibit behavior which would blemish their "good name". I would hope that in the future, any contracts with actors would include the actions which would be taken against anyone who doesn't follow company " guidelines and policies" to the extent that their project has to be cancelled. Financial remedies against Sheen would seem to be in order, at the very least, especially if he is found "competent", and not "insane". A public figure has no "private life", especially when they choose to break the law. I would not want my family to view any "Sheen" episodes of the "Two and a Half Men" show ever again, because of Sheen's disgusting and illegal behavior. I am certain there are other actors who could do as well as Sheen with the "part". After all, actors portray "real" people all the time, in such a way that they seem to "become the person". I am certain an actor could "become" this "part" as well. Why was Sheen not charged with a crime when he was found to have all the drugs in his possession in the hotel room?

How to Save on Gas as Prices at the Pump Climb {WalletPop}

Feb 28th 2011 11:01AM The Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for all the policies which they have blocked which would make us "less" dependent on foreign oil. They should also be totally voted out of any legislative office for the Reagan policy vote to give the Wealthy their tax cut extension. If we didn't have that $700 Billion dollar shortfall in our tax revenue, we could pay for ALL the budget programs which REPUBLICANS are taking issue with, and reduce our National Debt too. The INTEREST on the money to cover that tax cut is going to go on "forever" as part of our DEBT, because the cost of it was NOT COVERED BY BUSH. Regan was an outright idiot with his policy of lowering taxes on the rich to grow the economy. IT HAS NEVER WORKED. The ONLY thing that has grown is the distance beween the wealthy and the middle class of Americans. The richest 2% of Americans keep getting richer while the rest of the country is being destroyed by the debt incurred to keep them rich.

Obama Plans to Cut SBA Budget Almost in Half {AOL Small Business}

Feb 16th 2011 3:22PM There should be a law against the type of headline written here. It is implying that Obama is cutting the regular budget of the SBA in half. ACTUALLY, he is doing NOTHING like that. The SBA was given huge amounts in STIMULOUS funds, in the 2010 budget, to help get people jobs. THAT MONEY is NOT in the 2012 budget, because it was a ONE TIME, STIMULOUS FUND PACKAGE. Obama did not just "cut" their budget at all. The Republicans are doing this type of thing with many of the items they are targeting on the 2011 budget, to get the attention of voters, who they KNOW won't read the entire story. If you read the details of the above headline, you will see that what I am saying is correct. Most of the people who are posting here, did not read the entire story themselves.

Obama Plans to Cut SBA Budget Almost in Half {AOL Small Business}

Feb 16th 2011 3:05PM Saddam Housein had not committed ANY "crimes" against his people in over fourteen years when Bush invaded. When he was in prison, they tried to FIND some "newer" crimes to charge him with, and were unsuccessful. The Mass graves you speak of were the killing of antigovernment forces, and George H W supplied the poison gas which was used to kill those people. It was an internal war effort which was supported by the USA at the time.

Obama Plans to Cut SBA Budget Almost in Half {AOL Small Business}

Feb 16th 2011 1:24AM The GOP should recind the tax cut extension which they just voted to give to the top TWO PERCENT of the wealthiest Americans. That ALONE, would save EIGHTY THREE "BILLION" DOLLARS A YEAR, OVER THE NEXT TEN YEARS. That is a total of EIGHT HUNDRED AND THIRTY BILLION DOLLARS. That money is lost revenue which adds to our national debt and adds interest on top of that. The rationale of the Republicans is so far out of whack, it is laughable. They want to cut "entitlement" programs which aid the truly needy citizens, the elderly, and the infirm, BUT they believe their rich cronies are "ENTITLED" TO TAX CUTS IN THE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, WHEN THEY ALREADY PAY FAR LESS THAN THEIR FAIR SHARE OF TAXES TO BEGIN WITH. Social Security, by the way isn't an "entitlement". We pay into that fund for decades before we can use it. Bush TOOK a large percentage of those funds to pay for his vengeance war in Iraq, or we would not be having a problem with Social Security at all.

Obama Plans to Cut SBA Budget Almost in Half {AOL Small Business}

Feb 16th 2011 1:11AM You should do your research before complaining about what "should be done". People who receive public assistance are very often, if not always, asked to do volunteer work in exchange for the assistance they receive. Those who don't, are usually UNABLE to work. If you are ever in NEED of assistance, don't expect it to be a "free ride". IT ISN'T.

Obama Plans to Cut SBA Budget Almost in Half {AOL Small Business}

Feb 16th 2011 1:00AM When people get public assistance in this state, they ARE required to work and/or volunteer a portion of their time in their community. My son received food stamps of about $400 a month for several months while he was out of work. He worked in the DHS Office for several weeks, every day. Then he worked forty hour work weeks, for several months doing carpentry for free, building Homes for the poor. They logged his hours and turned them in on a report to the State DHS Office. He did that right up until he finally got the job he has right now. He has been working at this job for two years and no longer needs food stamps.

Bristol Palin Confirms She Will Run for Political Office {PopEater}

Feb 9th 2011 10:52PM No one has to "trash" the Palins. They have done that very well for themselves. Their low intelect has made them believe that their popularity among other Americans who share their level of intelligence means that the rest of the country would vote for them for anything they choose to "run for". They qualify for NO important political office. They could possibly get elected, but are qualified for nothing other than "the joke of the century". Poor Bristol, I pity her for her lack of maturity, and inability to see that for herself. She says she doesn't "care what people say", but in fact, that is exactly what she SHOULD be listening to. She needs to grow up, examine her situation, and go get the education which her mom never achieved. Maybe in the "far distant future", she could possibly hope people will have forgotten the last few years of Palin notoriety, and "run" for some Political office. This country is filled with brilliant young women, who have the talent, drive and ability, to achieve whatever level in politics they choose. Bristol will have to work her way up and go above all these women to ever get to the top. It won't be a DWTS type of "vote" where they vote for the "underdog", out of pity, because she is saddled with the handicap of Sarah Palin for a mother. They voted for her on DWTS because they wanted her to be able to break away from her family and have the money to achieve something on her own. I hope she has the good sense to know just how she needs to do that.
