A light sleeper's lament: six things you shouldn't do in a hotel {Gadling}

Jan 14th 2012 12:21PM I would like to add my opinion about hall noise. When we travel, we are either in a place where we want to stay up late at night and sleep in much of the day, or we are on vacation and want to spend a lot of time resting in our room. The biggest offenders to us, have been the housekeeping personnel. They call out to each other from one end of a hall to the other, and don't even attempt to hold their voices down when they speak to each other. They leave the doors open when they are cleaning and those in nearby rooms are having to endure all the noises of the vacuums they use as well as the rattling of their carts in the hallway. They all act as if we need to vacate our rooms are trying to encourage us to do so. We DO use the "do not disturb" sign on our door until we leave for the day.

Women Business Owners Optimistic About the Economy {AOL Small Business}

Jul 12th 2011 11:54AM Women were always better at small business than men. Women know how to make and use a budget and get the same things done with less money. The population in this country is still growing and as long as it does, the necessities of life will still be needed. People will use their income from whatever source it derives, to get those necessities and as many small comforts as they can get. The GOP is saying that the economy has come to a complete halt but this PROVES they are wrong. They are hoping to scare people into believing that Obama's policies have not worked. THEY ARE WORKING. If their Republican candidate and his Alaskan woman had gotten elected, the economy probably would be totally collapsed by now. McCain said it would take ten years to turn the economy around. Remember? WELL IT DIDN'T TAKE OBAMA BUT TWO YEARS, and it is already turning around. The American people are not going to fade away into the sunset. OBAMA just needs to stand strong against the blackmailing Republicans in the Legislature.

84 Percent of Small Businesses Say U.S. Economy is on Wrong Track {AOL Small Business}

Jul 12th 2011 11:35AM The words you are using are NOT the words of businessmen in this country. We all KNOW who is in the way of jobs. It is solely the doing of the Republican Party. They want to keep the tax cuts to the wealthy which will cost this country nearly 700 BILLION dollars, plus interest, on our national debt. That money would solve the current debt ceiling problem completely and the stock market problems and jobs problems would not exist. The Republicans don't have the seft confidence to believe they could ever get elected without their wealthy backers, so they will fight to the bitter end to preserve those tax cuts and tax deductions for their friends, even if it means the end of this country.

Mom Confesses 'Why I Don't Like My Child' in Magazine {ParentDish}

Jun 9th 2011 6:16PM It isnt so much that you don't "like your child", I think, It is that you feel that your child doesn't like/love you. I have a granddaughter who was much like this little girl. I suspected that there was some type of imbalance of hormones or vitimin deficiency, so we did what we could to fix those things. Today, she is seemingly very normal, caring and loving. When you are comparing a child to other children, it is because our society gives us makers to be aware that when the child doesn't "measure up", it might be cause to seek medical advice and have the child checked for problems which can be fixed. We are NOT trying to fit them into any type of arbitrary mold. Not "liking" the way a child is behaving, is NOT saying you don't "love" that child. You just don't know how to react or what to do to help the child be happier. If you are fortunate enough not to have had this problem, God blessed you.

Pink Says Stylist 'Butchered' Her Hair {PopEater}

Jun 6th 2011 12:45PM I can't tell how good the "cut" itself is, but I personally love the style and the color on Pink. She looks gorgeous. Congrats on the new baby girl. I hope Willow Sage is as talented and beautiful as Pink.

Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears in Herve Leger Dress: Who Wore It Best? (Photos, Poll) {Stylelist (Main)}

May 18th 2011 9:17AM The boots look great with the dress Britney. Kims shoes are good too, but her dress is way, way too tight and small for her. I am sure that most of the votes came from men and women who think s woman should demean herself to look "good". That is Kim's tradmark look though, so she just always goes for sleasy. At least Britney is starting to tone down the sleasy/sexy and go for the "just beautiful" look.

Kelly Osbourne Considering Gastric Band to Maintain Weight {PopEater}

May 5th 2011 9:01PM How can you be critical of her "English", When your own use of English is so bad?

Oprah Won't Publicly Support Obama in 2012 Election {PopEater}

Apr 7th 2011 12:42PM Obama is doing better than McCain would have ever done. Everyone, even McCain, now knows that McCain/Palin was a BIG MISTAKE. McCain said during his campaign that it would take ten years to turn our economy around and Obama has done it in less than two. Our economy is growing and the jobless rate is getting smaller. He has done all that he promised and MORE. He has constantly worked on all the issues we face, and he stays on the job, unlike Bush who was ON VACATION, more than he was working at the job of President. Even when he was working, he only made things WORSE. It is ONLY the Republicans who say Obama has not been a good President. Even many Republicans respect the job he is doing. Oprah won't need to "announce" support for Obama. Most Americans know who she supports anyway. I doubt she will risk losing her base of Democratic viewers.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Build $1 Billion Fashion Empire {AOL Small Business}

Mar 25th 2011 9:46PM These girls are as adorable now as when they were babies. I love the little girls clothing line which they sold through Walmart. For all the years they were in those stores, I bought them for my granddaughters to wear. They wore them for years, and in fact they have been handed down to great grandchildren who are still wearing them. They last forever, and they "grow with the child". They also, never get to looking "old" even after dozens and dozens of washings. I am very happy that the girls are doing so well.

11 Outrageous Taxes {WalletPop}

Mar 6th 2011 8:44PM The voters, and "non voters", of this nation had better start paying more attention to the qualifications of those they do, or don't, elect to legislate the laws we live by, or they will be finding it very difficult to "live" at all. A lot of time is spent on determining what our "budget" money is spent on, and on approving the laws enacted which require funding, Then, as soon as a law is passed, such as the Health Care Bill, which will help multi-millions of Americans, there are legislators who suddenly decide that the "majority" vote which passed the Bill, isn't the "RIGHT" majority, so they start trying to take away the funds needed to put it into practice. Anything in our BUDGET, was "approved" to be funded, or it would not be there. The legislators are not even looking at the effects these cuts will have on ordinary PEOPLE. Actually, they seem to be targeting those least likely to be able to fight back against the cuts. When the Republicans can vote to EXTEND a tax cut, which is for less than TWO PERCENT OF AMERICANS, and which will cost us 700 BILLION DOLLARS, and which has cost that much, and more, already, how can they be so brazen as to complain about the cost of medicaid, health care, and education which help far more of our citizens, and the most needy, and most essential of programs? The lowering of taxes for the rich which R. Regan felt would help the economy, has NEVER WORKED, and yet the Republicans STILL want to hang onto that policy because they WANT IT to work, because they can benefit themselves. None of this makes any more sense than these ridiculous taxes on "candy and cards", being cited above. Funding should be kept in the budget for anything having to do with the NEEDS of our citizens, and all the frivolous trappings for the rich should be discarded. That should be simple.
