Cool Jobs: How 4 Women Found Better Careers {AOL Jobs}
Sep 11th 2009 9:51AM I made money by selling url's to all those thieves before me.
Don't believe a word of that stuff. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
It's a shame about the age discrimination. I own a business and would hire a 60+ yr. old with experience any time. People our age have the best work ethic since there are not as many options in addition to having more experience in one little finger.

Please spare me the "we're in academia so we're special" mantra. We have been hearing this for decades. Teachers are the most protected people in the world and constantly place themselves above the real world because they "teach." They work for less at first, but by 20 years they get decent salaries, very decent. Then when they retire they get an offset pension which brings the rest of their salaries in line or above -- forever. Plus they get social security with no penalty. Teachers cannot be fired short of anything illegal, they get 3 months off each year and they don't work half as hard as the average employee. Teachers never have to save, their future is secure with the pension.
By the teachers-don't-get-paid-for-working-on-their own time line, anyone who works one minute before 9:00 or after 5:00 is working on their own time. Any other employee who wants to get ahead needs to work extra.
Teachers should be on the same merit system as the rest of the world. Good ones make more, bad ones work eslewhere.
Hence the old saying: "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."

Dec 20th 2006 7:49AM Everybody wealthy has there schtick, Jobs has his too showing us that due his wealth he can do whatever he pleases. I would have more respect for him if he showed up at a function or two dressed in a suit or jacket and tie like the rest of us common folk are required to do. People may envy him his choice of clothing since he is an independent man, personally I would like him to conform a bit more to mainstream business which admittedly has taken a turn for the worse to casual.

Aug 28th 2006 6:57AM I'm a car guy but this is just plain silly. Another lame attempt to sell something no one else thought of. Lets also get tattos of our Dodge Ram logo.
Any guy who would wear this ring simply because it has a tire tread and wouldn't wear a ring without it is just a macho schmuck.

Aug 13th 2006 1:49PM There are many beautiful and huge waterfront homes in Naples. They are all quite fantastic as is this unique house. Anyone who thinks that the size of the home dictates the amount of love must be very sad indeed. It's quite a shame that person equates love with money, too bad, too sad.
Much luck and happiness to the current and future owners. God bless their good fortune.
