Everybody Loves Jeff Dunham -- Or Do They? {Inside TV Blog}
Nov 5th 2009 12:50PM Why is it alright for Black, Asian or other comedians and actors to say ANYTHING deragatory about another race or sexual orientation (Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, etc. - who are all EXTREMELY funny), but as soon as a White guy says it, it is racist? You know what, he's funny. PERIOD. You are assuming that people make their decisions on what to think about another race based upon a comedian and his act. You are telling us, basically, that we are sheep and too stupid to weed out what is true and what is simply satirical. Thanks for the vote of confidence! Perhaps we are so stupid that we needed you to write this article and enlighten us about what our perceptions SHOULD be. No thank you. I will continue to make my OWN calls on what to think!
Protecting Our Kids From Obama's Subversive 'Eat Your Peas' Message {Politics Daily}
Sep 4th 2009 6:31PM This "article" says NOTHING about what Obama was going to speak about that was so upsetting to some. This is not an article at all. It is a liberal "blog" entry that accuses the opposing side of simply being anti-Obama, without telling us what it is the predient would have said that they really oppose! Give the facts, not just some snide remarks about what you THINK people are REALLY upset about. There is far more to it than not wanting this particular president to speak to the kids. THIS is why people should not believe everything they read. There is NO substance to this author's rant. If the opposing parents really are simply upset about the person delivering the speech, then they have a problem and need to get over it. He is our president, like it or not, and as long as he is isn't promoting an agenda, what is the harm? However, if there is some sly campaigning going on, we should absolutely put a halt to it.

Passengers protest peanuts, prefer pretzels {Gadling}
Feb 17th 2009 8:18PM My hubby is allergic to peanuts but I LOVE them, however, as he gets older, the allergy seems to have gotten worse. Before, he would just politely decline the in-flight nuts and I would eat them. Then, a few years ago, even the smell made him sick. The last time we flew on Southwest, he was flipping through the safety brochure and the in-flight magazine, and he must have rubbed his eyes or something because he had a full on allergy attack right there, at 30,000 feet! It was scary. Thankfully it was a short flight and two Benadryls helped until we got him to an E.R., but next time, who knows? I say if you want peanuts, bring your own. Otherwise, if so many people are allergic, why take a risk?
Mandy Moore Getting Out of the Clothing Business {Luxist}
Feb 11th 2009 9:39PM Oh, boo-hoo. A celebrity isn't going to be making a bundle off of cheap clothes made by kids in sweatshops all over the world. I do not feel sorry for any of these self-important fools that tried to make money on crap that has their name slapped on it. Its about time we spent the money on more important things instead of supporting their lifestyles!
Many Are Losing Faith in Bernard Madoff {News Campus Blog}
Jan 25th 2009 12:51PM Nice - so even G-d gives up on you when you have done something wrong, IF you are Jewish. What kind of "faith" is that? To boot someone out of your religion because they sinned? Unless it is because money is more important than eternal salvation. Growing up Catholic but always sensitive to the Jewish side of my family, I am disgusted by what appears to be a complete lack of compassion from those that should surely understand the meaning of it after the holocaust. Perhaps money, power, and revenge trump eternal life with G-d. Madoff is a complete jerk who deserves hell on earth, but who are we to decide about his standing in the hereafter??
Plane Answers: Fear of flying, aging aircraft and more on those 'dings.' {Gadling}
Jan 14th 2009 11:38PM I am a travel agent. I send people all over the world in airplanes and I think nothing of it. While I loved it as a kid, I absolutely lose all sense of reality when I fly now and I get all anxious and nervous as I get to the airport, go through security, board the plane, deal with RUDE people, etc. Yet, I continue to plan trips for myself and my family all the time. Why?
A - I realize how ridiculously safe flying is and I understand the odds. I think I also realize that is a weird cosmic or religious sort of way, when it is my time, it is my time.
B - I don't want to let the fear of dying change how I LIVE. Bottom line, it is about control, but I also believe that every time I hear about a plane crash, I torture myself by thinking of those poor people that died, and the horrifying minutes before, and the way they went about their life that very day, not knowing they were heading off to their death as they pulled out of their driveways and boarded those planes. I think about their plans and their unfinished business. I think about what must have been going through their minds when they realized it was all going to end and how they probably wished they had one more chance to say something to their loved ones. THAT is why I hate to fly, because ultimately, I NEVER want to experience anything like that. That would be the ultimate torture. THAT is why I hate to fly.
But, I will keep doing it. I will also keep freaking out. I am probably cutting about 15 years off of my life with the stress, but at least I am going places!
Burt Reynolds in Hobe Sound, Estate of the Day {Luxist}
Jan 6th 2009 10:19PM Um, not meaning to be picky, but 40% is NOT "half off" as the lead in to this story stated. Perhaps that is why the real estate market crashed! Too many people that couldn't do the math, like the lenders who approved anything with a beating heart and the buyers who obviously couldn't afford what they buying!
Blame the housing bubble on HGTV? {WalletPop}
Jan 6th 2009 10:13PM Too many people are trying to outpace the Joneses...a lot of our friends have these outrageous 3500-4500 sq ft homes and they don't even have kids! Even then, the kids' rooms are SO tiny, I would feel guilty sleeping in the huge master bedroom! We live in a 1400 sq ft house and have been here 16 years. Yeah, it is small for two adults and two kids, but so is our mortgage at nearly one-third of what everyone else is paying. Our property taxes are even 1/4 of our friends that bought big. I guess it is so much "cooler" to have a new house, but personally, I like having less to clean and I can spend my money on a nice place in Hawaii once a year instead of being forced to hang out in my HUGE backyard that costs $200 a month for the landscaper to blow leaves around! Maybe someday they can afford to put that pool in too, but I doubt it!
Royal Caribbean wants you to pay a $15 surcharge for red meat {WalletPop}
Oct 7th 2008 11:56AM I have been a travel consultant for 15 years and I refuse to sell Royal Caribbean. They do not care about their guests and they have let their entire fleet go to the dogs. Dirty rooms, food poisoning, unfriendly staff, and no interest in customer complaints makes for a horrible cruise. Sail with someone who actually cares...but don't waste your money on Royal Caribbean. They used to be my favorite. Now, they just plain stink!
