What's The Greenest Vehicle On The Road? {Translogic}
Oct 21st 2010 7:00PM One thing I forgot to mention in my earlier post: run out of gas in an internal combustion powered car and somebody bring you a can of gas and you're on your way again. With an electric car you'll have to be towed. In high traffic areas it could result in record breaking traffic jams. I don't know about you but if I need an emergency response, get to me with something powered by an internal combustion engine! The military will never rely on fleet comprised of strictly electric powered vehicles. They are just not practical. Remember: they were all tried before and gasoline won out because it proved to be the best tool for the job
What's The Greenest Vehicle On The Road? {Translogic}
Oct 21st 2010 6:50PM What the article doesn't mention is one of the reasons that hybrids like the Prius are just a sham is that the manufacturing process for the batteries leaves a HUGE carbon footprint. Combine that with the problems of recycling them and you've got a real problem down the road. It also costs over a grand to replace them which has to be done every 1000 miles. The Mercedes S-class was proven to be more eco-friendly than a Prius. Wait and see when all those hybrids reach 100k miles and those batteries start piling up in landfills. All electric cars are FAR from the answer. Unless that is that you don't believe that generating enough electricity to power them is no problem. Every rouge state on the planet will have a Nuke plant because they'll need one to fuel their cars. No thanks.Most of those plants will probably be built by the Chinese.Bio-fuel is the best alternative that we have.
Does Your Name Spell Success? {AOL Jobs}
Feb 11th 2009 11:50PM This didn't post before so I'm re-submitting it. My step-fathers name was Irving. Thays WAY past the A's & B's. He graduated High School at 16, College, Phi Beta Kapa at 19 and was admitted to the Bar at 23. To think that your first initial dictates your academic success is ludicrous. we were all born with free will to determine what we will accomplish. i hope that those guys didn't do their study on a government grant paid for by the taxpayers!
