Kim Kardashian's Million-Dollar Lollipop {Luxist}
Mar 7th 2011 11:12PM Kardashian doesn't get it. The culture of excess is dead. She will continue to make money as long as we clamour for more information, because we believe a "normal" life is a boring life. The media has done a poor job of promoting financial responsibility. Photographers (I have nothing against you) continue to sell photos (for cash) to the media to control, shape, and influence american culture.I wonder why other countries hate the U.S. for our culture of flagrant excess. The recession is real, people have lost their homes, their jobs, and their healthcare. We have the largest population of children in poverty since the great recession. How does Ms. Kardashian show her sensitivity to the real world?? Promoting a diamond encrusted lollipop--for what???.......This young lady has a job as a pop icon.......imagine that..........staying in the media, selling fantasy, excess, poor taste, no class, and products (I assure you the diamond encrusted lollipop will be gone in less than 5 years--its not Bulgari (jewelry that has been around since 1884!), its some no name store in Vegas. I can't even believe I'm commenting, but I'm concerned about the young girls that are following this womans every move and believing that what she does in the public eye is what they should aspire to...........what a waste.
N.Y. Baker Makes Racist Cookies, Threatens President {Lemondrop}
Jan 23rd 2009 6:14PM I hate to say it but I think this is a case of someone exploiting the election in the name of greed. Everyone is cashing in on Obama and our nations history. ($10 newspapers, t-shirts, commemorative this, commemorative that) The recession has hit and this guy needed some press to gather attention for his overpriced, tasteless baked goods. Now, let's think about this...... if you can't afford to pay for marketing what better way to get free press than to act stupid or ignorant??? Our media is known for this practice (find the unusual and make a big deal of it..........remember joe the plumber that wasn't really a plumber???). Joe the plumber is now in the entertainment/news industry, imagine that!!! What I feel is that everyone is not in love with the idea of Obama or for that matter a "drunk negro." To be honest I don't like any drunks, I don't care what their race is. The racial reference for the cookie is poor. They actually look like the old California Raisins!! I'll pray that he learns that we are all humans first, and that race is a gift from God that allows us to have a little diversity so that we don't get bored! Peace, Joy & Serenity.............everyone pray for this guy!!
