Linde Werdelin SpidoLite SA Rose Gold Limited Edition Watch {Luxist}

Oct 22nd 2009 6:12PM This piece feels similar to the way I feel about the Hublot Big Bang post above. The gold is nice, but LW is really known for the SpidoLite. I am not sure that if I want a tool watch, I would want this particular piece, given all of the choices in that price range. Interesting, yes. Best of breed, no.

Hublot Big Bang Gold Watch {Luxist}

Oct 22nd 2009 6:09PM A beautiful watch, but yes, the slight tweaks and variations have become a little bland on the Bang. I still would love to own one though. Hublot needs to drum up something else special, as far too much of its aura is surrounded by the Big Bang series. Diversity is needed.

Good News: La Lohan May Leave Acting for Good {Cinematical}

Mar 23rd 2009 6:14PM She can't possibly leave acting for good...I mean, her natural progression towards some sort of porn still involves some form of acting. It's too bad, because she has wasted her talents in recent years, but look at Mickey Rourke (not truly comparing them from a talent standpoint, but still)...Hollywood loves a comeback tale.

An intense movie by Katherine Bigelow.

Three 'Inglourious Basterds' Posters Pop Online {Cinematical}

Feb 20th 2009 8:38PM I like the posters. Good stuff in general. It would have been interesting, since it is a war movie, if he went with a retro look, kinda like grindhouse. This is a pretty cool link for retro art work for movies that I came across. Worth checking out, if you like movie art work!

Discuss: Which Best Pictures Do You Still Watch Regularly? {Cinematical}

Feb 16th 2009 6:01PM Gladiator is the only one that you mentioned you watch, that I would watch with any sort of regularity. Gump I have seen numerous times. LOTR is unwatchable, Silence of the Lambs is great and I have seen it quite a few times. Pulp Fiction, while not a winner, is among my most watched films ever, as is The Shawshank Redemption. I guess I prefer to watch non-awards related films like Go, Swingers, Jerry Maguire (Gooding's win aside, I think Cruise was nominated as an actor as well), Guy Ritchie movies, etc.

Review: Two Lovers {Cinematical}

Feb 12th 2009 6:44PM Very well thought out review. Well-said. I wish I could say I hadn't been in Leonard's situation before, but certainly to some extent I have. Not the suicide, but the choice between two women. It is a consummate struggle that I deal with to this day. I wrote a review on this a week ago on my site and enjoyed it, but perhaps not quite as much as you let on in your review. For my review, see here. Enjoy!

Discuss: Newcomers Whose Time Has Gone {Cinematical}

Feb 12th 2009 5:32PM Loving this topic. Wes Bentley. After American Beauty, what happened to him? For that matter, his co-star Thora Birch in that film. Erika Christensen from Traffic. Loved her in that. Then Swim Fan, then....??? Ummm, Nick Cannon anyone? The list grows....

Discuss: Newcomers Whose Time Has Gone {Cinematical}

Feb 12th 2009 5:00PM This list can grow pretty long, I suspect, but it all depends on the definition of failed expectations and length of time given. While I think Eric Bana may indeed be a good call, one might say Ben Affleck never really fulfilled his status after Good Will Hunting (that being said, he wasnt that significant in that film), Dark Knight aside, Heath Ledger would probably fall into this category too (until his Joker role anyway). I personally don't think Sia LeBeouf is deserving, nor can a guy like Seth Rogen be a lead in a film (he is best suited to role player work). Adrien Grenier never broke out from Entourage. Even Gwynet Paltrow never really got much going after Shakespeare in Love. I think there are many, depending on the definition used.

Greatness in the Making: Director James Gray {Cinematical}

Feb 12th 2009 4:03PM Gray is indeed an emerging talent, though I think Two Lovers is a flawed film. While Gray handles most things well and Joaquin knocks one out of the park, this alone does not a film make. For my full review, see here.

Enjoy.
