My favorite Christmas memory is from when I was 6 years old. I was in second grade and just about giving into my peers with all of their "there's no Santa talk". Well, that December, just as my mind was swimming with doubt, I looked up in the sky and saw a string of white lights preceded by a single red one. And if that wasn't PROOF that there was a Santa Claus -- well, that gave me another solid five years of steadfast belief.
(The adult me feels the need to add this key fact, I lived due south of LAX. Sigh.
