Nov 1st 2010 7:08PM This reminds me of the Brothers of the Brush competition that was held when I was in high school. The town was celebrating an anniversary of its founding (1772) and all the rednecks were growing beards. This was in 1972 when they had been giving me grief for having my own beard for 5 yrs. When someone suggested that I enter the contest because I had such a head start, I shaved off my beard. I told everyone that I wanted no confusion with me and the people who had been giving me grief for five years. I grew it back when they finished their nonsense.
