Top Fine Restaurants in Vancouver {Luxist}
Feb 21st 2010 12:55PM While Burnaby and West Vancouver are within the "Metro Vancouver" area, and Whistler is part of the 2010 Olympic venue, it is somewhat misleading to include a Tofino destination (The Pointe, Tofino, #3 on your list) as a "Vancouver Restaurant". The Pointe Restaurant at the Wickaninnish Inn is undoubtedly a very fine dining destination, but to get there from downtown Vancouver requires a 30-60 minute (depending on traffic) drive to catch a ferry, a 95 minute ferry ride, and then a minumum 4-6 hour drive across Vancouver Island to reach Tofino (depending on which ferry terminal was chosen).
Or a pricy helicopter ride, for the impatient. And you will need overnight accommodation.
So you just got an iMac -- now what? {TUAW.com}
Dec 28th 2008 12:48PM to JoshK and all new users: Vuescan is definitely worthwhile for scanning. The interface is beautiful and logical, the supported scanners list is astounding (http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/vuescan.htm#hp) and the feature list is as rich as you could want, even including OCR. I have been using it for years with a succession of scanners and have especially appreciated the continuity of interface, not to mention the responsiveness of the developer to any questions. And yes, the Photosmart C3100 is included in the list of supported scanners. It is comparable to Apple's Print interface in its consistency across all the printer models, only this is for scanners.
