Become a world famous traveler {Gadling}

Mar 9th 2009 4:28PM To earn a living like that, you'd basically have to turn yourself into a major household brand. In theory, someone would pick you up long before that happened (even in today's tough media economy). To earn serious income, you'd really have to be so good that a major magazine would make an exception for you. So, short answer is: no.

That being said, you can pull in some extra cash this way. It's still not easy. You'll have to spend a lot of time writing for little reward. Over time, you'll build up a following. Your page views will increase. Cash will start to come in. It will never be huge, but it could turn into a decent source of beer money.

Celebrate the Francis Bacon centennial, starting in Madrid {Gadling}

Feb 24th 2009 10:17PM I hope you enjoy the trip! This exhibit is a rare treat, especially since Bacon didn't create a large body of work.

I just had a smoke with Nelson Diaz (the other artist in this article) a few hours ago. He's still excited about the centennial.

UPDATE: Inside the Dirtiest Hotel in the United States {Gadling}

Feb 10th 2009 5:48PM Yeah, I'm more comfortable on my stoop. The folks next door at Pomodoro are much more hospitable. Maybe a sidewalk meetup on the UWS?

UPDATE: Inside the Dirtiest Hotel in the United States {Gadling}

Feb 10th 2009 4:27PM I've stayed in some pretty bad NYC hotels, but what you did (even briefly) was unbelievable. That was foul. I'm glad you didn't stay there overnight. Seriously.

Destination on the edge: SEAL training {Gadling}

Feb 7th 2009 3:05PM There are plenty of programs out there. I focused on this one because it's the most authentic (from what I saw). Most of them seem to be fitness-oriented rather than military, though, which is why I chose cover this one.

Feb 7th 2009 2:58PM Davos, eh? I'd love to see some of the bigwigs at the World Economic Forum shack up there!

Budget Travel: Montreal {Gadling}

Feb 5th 2009 8:49PM When I was there, I focused mostly on the paintings, but I do remember seeing some sculpture. As long as you are on St Paul Ouest, you'll find them.
