The VA uses the aprraised value of a home which is ready for habitation. Many used home sellers will try to hide defects and know that a VA inspector will find the problems with a home. Thius, thjose sellers DO NOT want the VA to get involved - they rob the GI blindly.

The VA loan program watches out for the servicememmber and would not back an overpriced home as in this case. How do I know it was overpriced??? Read the part about someone else BUYING it for LESS!
Any seller who is aproved WILL get his money, period. The biggest difference on VA loans is that a large percentage is backed by VA thus no such thing as 'downpayment' is required. The VA also makes sure that the home is 'habitable' and reliable. They also insure that GIs are NOT taken to the cleaners as in this cae!

Nov 13th 2008 3:11PM People - RACISM, PREJUDICE, BIAS, etc WILL NEVER be wiped out! IT is part of HUMAN NATURE - like sex, humor, anger, etc.
Many want evryone to be 'hateless' - imposible! So what can we do as individuals? Simple: Recognize we have 'bias' but do not allow those feelings to prevent recognition, reward, advancements, recommendations of those we feel 'biased' toward. EX: If a cop deserves a medal for achievement - do your best he/she gets it. If a soldier deserves a promotion for exzcepcional performance - help him/her get it!
You do not have to invite the soldier to your anniversary..., nor the cop to your birthday party. But, you must put aside your 'feelings' and do the best for those who deserve awards, promotions, etc.
Many 'paint themselves' as tolerant and non-racists..., untill a daughter wants to marry outside their race! Sadly, in the USA, it is the African American who has more incident of racism than any other race! Remewmber Tawan Brawdley (?)) and Al Sharpton? How about the La Cross students accused of rape? Forgot OJ yet? The Washignton mayor?
The latino MS 13 gangs came about as result of Black gangs abusing, robbing, assaults, and discrimination by Blacks agains the Latinos in California. This is why I dsay the African Americans are more biased than anyone in this country.
