Almost 2/3 of Brocade's business is through OEM channels via HP, IBM, EMC, and Dell. If one of those companies buys Brocade, won't the others be tempted to dump them and take their OEM revenues elsewhere?
At 1/3 of its current revenues, does Brocade still look cheap, especially when you factor in the premium over the current market price that an acquirer would have to pay?

I have a thing for high ceilings, and the ceiling in the bedroom feels kind of low.
Still, If I had to live in LA (and had the $$$), I'd consider it. :)

Sep 30th 2006 5:39PM iDrive has got to be a contender for the worst user interface in cars. The natural user interface for this kind of thing is a touch screen.
iDrive is so bad, in fact, that I consider it a "poison pill" that's preventing me from replacing my 2000 328i with a 335i: I'd love to buy the 335i, but I WON'T buy a car without nav, and I WON'T buy a car WITH iDrive.
I'm in a bit of a pickle: my 328i is up for replacement in the next year or two, and I'd love to get another BMW, but I won't compromise on iDrive. Unfortunately, the other contenders (Audi A4, Lexus IS350 (shudder)) have V6 engines, not inline-6's like the BMW... :(

Aug 29th 2006 4:07PM Speaking of smoking and farting, I recently decided that if someone smokes around me, I'm going to fart with reckless abandon around them. Not subtly trying to "sneak one in", but loud and proud.
If they act disgusted, I'll point out that unlike their cigarettes, my farts aren't going to give anyone lung cancer, nor will farts make anyone's clothes and hair stink. (They're not *that* bad, even if I've eaten Mexican recently.)
