Nov 24th 2010 7:45PM It sounds like she got Student Loans only, and never worked! $200,000 is a lot of money, and that went for WAY more than her books and tuition! That paid for her housing, her car, her food, her fun... And she was irresponsible, too! Clearly... I think it's unbelievably rude and in beyond poor taste to ask the public to pony up for her! Hey! I could use $200,000, too! Anyone want to send me some cash to retire all of my debts and expenses, too?! Give me a break! She'll just have to make sure she makes $1600 per month more than she needs for all her other life expenses, and pay and pay and pay... If she's in her early 20's, she'll have 20 years to make a lot of money, and when she's in her early 40's, she'll have it paid off and she'll have another 20 or 25 years to make even more money, so I don't feel sorry for her--she'll be fine...

THAT'S probably why it wasn't mentioned--I doubt he "forgot", it was simply irrelevant! But I suspect you already knew that, you just get a perverse pleasure from reminding us about the probation... You Domers probably WILL win next week, though, cuz SC is riddled with injuries, among them, the heart & soul of the team, Barkley!

Nov 21st 2010 2:31AM First of all, she is a nothing special nobody commoner... BUT, because she's finally marrying the guy she's been shacking up with for a decade, since they were both 18, and that guy happens to be a Prince, somehow, now, all of a sudden, she's supposed to be somebody special, and is now Royal, and is now some fashion icon????? Really?? WHY???? No-one would look twice at her if she wasn't marrying a Prince!!! And even though William's mother was also a commoner, she at least was also an aristocrat, with a titled father... All Kate has is a social climbing mother who engineered her daughter into St Andrews to study art, because she knew the Prince was, too... Kate has never even done anything with her degree, she's just followed William around for 10 years, living with him and doing his bidding! She has set womankind back 70 years with her doormat behavior! Thank goodness William manned up and is making an honest woman out of her, but it's gross that he's using a total symbol of divorce to do it! That ring was Harry's, too, so double-yuck... I mean, who wants a ring from a disasterous marriage, that belongs to your future brother-in-law??? Anyway, I think everyone should just let Kate & William marry, and stop all the fuss! She's a very basic girl, and marrying William doesn't instantly change any of that, nor should it! If people keep making her a bigger deal than she is, which is what they did with Diana, who was nobody until she married Charles, then another disaster is going to happen... So resist the temptation to sensationalize this very basic nobody commoner... PLEASE!! Leave them alone! Treat her the way they do Sophie, Edward's great wife... Leave them be, as making her something special when she isn't, is going to really mess with her head!

Nov 19th 2010 8:57PM She IS a commoner, much more so than her fiancee's mother was (Diana was a commoner, but was an aristocrat, Kate is not, she's a nothing special commoner...), so commoner rules should apply... Also, that ring is a symbol of DIVORCE, so I would NOT want it!! (Plus it was HARRY's, not William's)... I think couples should pick out the ring together, that way, the bride is getting what she wants to wear for 50+ years, but the groom also has a say in the choice of what he's giving her, too... Diana was ALONE, looking at a tray of rings that a jeweler brought over for her to look at, and chose the sapphire because it was the biggest (that's what SHE said herself)... Not a romantic choice, not her fiancee choosing it with her, he wasn't even there! HE certainly didn't use any family heirloom jewels (and he has access to plenty!)... I think William made a mistake to use the symbol of divorce for Kate... But, he's been shacking up with her for a decade now, so I guess it's just something to give her to get on with it already...

Nov 18th 2010 5:36PM I think the Williams Sisters are great talents, but I think it's absurd to say Women's Tennis is nothing without them! There is plenty of good exciting tennis to be had, and TONS of people watch, whether the WS are there or not! Kim Clijsters, Sam Stosur, Caroline W, Schiovonne, etc... There are MANY Top 15 Players who are great, and I am never bored... To say it's no good unless Serena or Venus are playing is a total insult to the entire WTA!!! The Williams Sisters ARE great, and I hope Venus DOES play, but it won't make me watch the AO... I ALWAYS watch the AO, regardless of who is or isn't playing! Either one is a tennis fan and a grand slam watcher, or one is not... Period! I'm getting sick of so many articles that keep saying that without the WS, women's tennis is nothing or that it's over... That's just patently absurd!

Nov 18th 2010 5:17PM I can see why you think it's not their "fault" that they have a cream puff schedule that they can sleep-walk through, but they really DO have a choice, so it IS their own fault! And schedule really DOES matter! I mean, EVERYONE would be undefeated if they had Boise State's weaker-than-weak schedule! The BCS stinks and needs to go away, but that shouldn't give Boise State a pass... Their schedule is so weak, I don't think it's fair that they should even be in contention at all! If they don't like who they play, then they need to change that! And they CAN change that, if they really wanted to! They could go independent, and play a Pac 10 team, an SEC team, a Big 12 team, etc... They could play the best team from each of the other conferences, and believe me, if they beat all the best from all the conferences, and were STILL undefeated, then NOTHING would stop them from being National Champions!! They DO have a choice of who they play, so it IS their own fault if they don't play better teams. Someone just needs to grow some you-know-whats, and make the decison to leave their high-school level conference... But they choose instead to just stay put, year after year, be undefeated by playing no-one, and then whine and complain that they don't get to dance at the prom, or even go to the prom at all... That is their own fault, sorry... They DO have a choice, and they refuse to make it... They need to stop whining or make a substantive change, it's that simple! Undefeated or not, they don't deserve to even be in the top 25, since they play no-one...
