Bill O'Reilly Fires Back at 'The View' Ladies [Video] {PopEater}

Oct 15th 2010 2:40PM It always cracks me up when the people who advocate tolerance won't tolerate someone else's intolerance. Whoopi and Joy are big fans of tolerating other people's "rights". Well, wouldn't sitting there, listening to BO'R, despite the fact that they disagree, be the TOLERANT thing to do? So, people who are offended by a mosque near ground zero have to suck it up because the developer has the'right' (which they do regardless of how offensive it might be), but they have to get up and LEAVE when someone expresses an opinion they don't agree with. Not very tolerant. Imagine if B O'R got up and left while Joy and Whoopi were talking? We'd all be talking about how 'intolerant and arrogant' he is. So, a lot of people who preach tolerance are really just saying, "Uou have to tolerate what i tell you to tolerate because I won't tolerate your intolerance". SO funny.

May 26th 2010 11:52AM It is accepted practice in the US to refer to a former president as The President or Mr. President after they leave office. They get to retain the title and the USSS protection.

Pernod Absinthe Returns After 93 Years {Luxist}

Oct 26th 2008 9:59AM The ingredient in absinthe that has made it illegal is thujone. The "repeal" of the FDA prohibition stated that now, a very small amount of thujone is permitted (10 ppm). The FDA ban is still in effect for any larger amounts for human consumption and still enforced by Customs. The “Absinthe” sold in most US retail liquor stores, or legally acquired via internet or catalogs for import in the United States is a “neutered” version that is “thujone free” (less than 10 ppm). There are foreign websites out there that will gladly sell you absinthe containing more thujone than is legal for U.S. import and should you try to import the “traditional” version, it will be seized. JUST TRYING TO SAVE WELL-INTENTIONED IMPORTERS SOME AGGRAVATION, that’s all.

Pernod Absinthe Returns After 93 Years {Luxist}

Oct 26th 2008 8:23AM The article is a bit misleading. Absinthe has been illegal in Europe and the U.S. since about 1915. The "return" in the title of the article refers to the fact that it is no longer illegal to produce (or purchase) in Europe; however, it is STILL illegal in the U.S., even to IMPORT. If you purchase absinthe on the internet, it will (obviously) have to be sent through the U.S. postal service or an express courier (FedEx, DHL). All international mail is subject to search and SEIZURE upon import by U.S. Customs and this is one of the more commonly seized items in international postal facilities. It's not unlike small amounts of narcotics or marijuana. You could purchase and use all you want in foreign countries with no restrictions; however, once you try to bring them into the U.S., you've broken the law, it will be seized, you will have lost your money and you as the "importer" will most likely have a "record".
