Mar 16th 2008 12:37AM I own a California-legal grey-market vehicle, have previously owned a Show or Display vehicle as well as a kit car. Separating the motor from the chassis just to get it into the country and then mating them back together does not a kit car make. A non-Motorex Skyline is not a kit car in any form. Anyone who is crazy enough to buy one of these vehicles and drive it on the street is looking to have it seized by the Feds.

Sep 19th 2007 4:19PM AlexP is correct. The Pontiac Vibe is built at the NUMMI plant in Fremont. The Toyota Matrix is not. NUMMI does build Toyotas, though, including the Corolla and Tacoma truck. If you are visiting the Bay Area, a tour of the NUMMI plant is quite a fun activity.
