De Beers Wants To Convince The Public That Diamonds Are A Good Investment {Luxist}

May 20th 2009 3:14PM Diamonds are a fine example of how a monopoly can get away from you. These thing are all over the planet and there's so much of it. DeBeers keeps the prices high by creating an artificial shortage. I'm surprised that any investor would fall for the "Diamands as investment" scam.

Nobu To Indicate Endangered Fish On Menu {Luxist}

Sep 23rd 2008 6:24PM People who eat at Nobu aren't looking at the prices. If you are, you're missing out on some of the best dishes. No one orders a cheaper dish there, they order exactly what they want to eat.

Maserati: Low Gas Mileage, Hot Sales {Luxist}

Jul 14th 2008 2:27PM I don't think that people in the Maserati market are ones that really care about gas prices, whereas Hummer owners were people who were looking for inexpensive luxury (comparatively to Maserati). Once the reality of gas prices hit and Hummer owners saw the gas mileage of other cars in the same price range, it became a no brainer.

Amazon To Start Selling Wine {Luxist}

Mar 6th 2008 12:08PM Decanter says they'll be using wine.com for it, but there's no release on wine.com's site. Time will tell.

Infuse your vodka {Slashfood}

Mar 3rd 2008 12:53PM I think one of the most fun sites around this idea is http://www.infusionsofgrandeur.net/

Lots of good experiments there, including jalepeno, coffee, and pear.

L.A. and B.C. tie for tastiest tap water title {Slashfood}

Feb 26th 2008 6:08PM I would have liked to see some of the municipal waters blindly mixed in to the bottled water competition to see where those rank.

When life gives you lemons ... {Slashfood}

Feb 20th 2008 6:32PM This is a bad example because it was done in New Jersey, everything is full of bacteria there.

Bag o'milk is better for the environment {Slashfood}

Even nerds like to drink sometimes {Slashfood}

Dec 19th 2007 5:58PM Good site, though posts are sporadic. Maybe with the traffic you drive there it will motivate Gabriel to post some more! ;)

I'm on their blogroll, so they must be doing something right.

The New Frontier Goes Down So The Plaza Can Go Up {Luxist}

Nov 14th 2007 1:14PM The Frontier was worn down, but I'll miss it. It was a great place to stay when you wanted to be in Vegas, but didn't want to be a huge part of Vegas. The pool actually had a deep-end (it was built before lawsuits) and the location was great.

I have no idea why they're naming it the same name of a place that's already in downtown. But I guess they don't care.
