Do You Own An Unusual Pet? {AOL Hot Searches}

Apr 15th 2008 9:52PM We have a dog and two fish. We are 'sitting' for a king snake from one of my son's classrooms at school this week. He's in first grade and they have the snake, a tortise, and quail in the class. They will be hatching a rooster and some other animals for the last quarter of school The experience has been amazing for him and he is so knowledgeable on all of the critters. I am intrigued with Shimmer the snake and will be allowing two of my other sons to get a snake each. The critters in the class, I assume,come from the teachers' own home each year. I'm sure they have taught her children a lot too including how to be sharing of their pets. I give her a lot of credit for how thoughtful she is by having these pets in her classroom and bringing a different experience to the children not taught in all or any other classrooms.

Should Women Breast-feed Each Others' Babies? {News Bloggers}

Sep 21st 2007 1:30PM I don't have a problem with this personally. However, isn'tit possible to transmit hiv to an infant via breast milk? Is this case, are you willing to have the other person reveal all their personal business, ie, are you hiv positive?, Are you in a monogamous relationship and are they monogamous?, Are both of you clean from hiv?, are you willing to prove that to me? There are bigger factors these days and this is a big one up for consideration for you and the health of your child and well being of your family.

May 18th 2007 11:31PM Hey # 11, You have more money, but less intelligence to know that it is afford TO not TOO, more money THAN rather than THEN. Go back to school, maybe the trailer park is not for you either (you have much too low of an education)...Furthermore, IFFIN, i??? What the heck language do you speak anyhow? Money does not buy you love, happiness, or worthiness. You are correct, it's not about helping children, it's not about the style, putting bling on your finger, it's about clueless shallow people like YOU, and doing better than that! Wishing you the best to find real happiness that money can NEVER buy!!! Think outside your very shallow box. If you are so loaded as you clam to be, I challenge you to do something good and thoughtful for your fellow man without rubbing it in or saying, "oh, look at me, see what I did for you..." Do something nice for your fellow man and say nothing about it to anyone.

May 18th 2007 11:11PM Cheap, cheap, cheap !!!!!!!!!Why would you waste some bling on a cheap pair of flip- flops?? Put the goods into a necklace, bracelet, earrings, or ring. Trailer trash is right! Nothing classy about them. Just a big waste, but hey, you could wear that black garbage bag with them...

At last -- a real body model! {Stylelist}

Feb 27th 2007 11:44PM She is a beautiful woman indeed. She is still smaller than the "average" woman in the US. Good for the department store who hired her. We need a new image of what could be real. It's more natural. Keep hiring women who are taking care of themselves!!

By the way, # 20, at 5' 3", you can be a size 0 and be proud of it. A model who is 5"11" does not belong in this size. I am 5'7" and my optimum size is a 7/8 (U.S.) (possibly with hungering myself, a size 5/6)) as is the model who is 5'8".

Oh, and # 10, I am currently in a size 10. I've had five children, and the reality of it is, I am not where I'd like to be optimally, but am working at it at age 39, but you are WAY off base. I don't know your situation, but you have a lot of nerve blasting women of sizes 10, 12, and 14. wait until you have children or hit an age where things change differently than the previous dacade.

More evidence that Bratz are bad girls {ParentDish}

Feb 24th 2007 8:54PM # 82, I am with you! I have 5 boys and I chose (and still do) very certain discretion on many toys and things on tv. Respectful, intelligent, and strong minded children are what we are raising. They are future adults and you have to look at that as a parent to know how you want society to be in our future generations.

Starbucks sued over hot chocolate incident {Slashfood}

Nov 27th 2006 5:49PM The rule for parents at home is to have your hot water heater set to 120 degrees or a serious burn can happen..., i.e. second and third degree burns. Hot chocolate at 140 degrees is a big jump!Your skin will blister and peel on a third degree burn. It can happen very fast so it's no big surprise in this case. Also if she had pants on, which is likely, the heat from the drink would be kept on her body longer than rolling off of her, however, being strapped in, she was sitting in it longer too. When removing her pants, it is likely too that mom peeled her skin away where the blister had formed while trying to help her child. I am sorry for the incident, but a bit of common sense would keep many "accidents" from happening and therefore no need for ridiculous law suits. Mom and Dad did not use their best judgement for the safety of their child.

Japanese hospital sets up "hatch" for babies {ParentDish}

Nov 10th 2006 7:01PM This is a great idea. In CT we already have a couple of drop off places such as the fire department and local hospital. You can drop off your newborn with no questions asked or repercussions for doing so. I do know since this came into effect, however, there have still been incidents of those who did not know about this or still decided to do the wrong thing by the child. I think the awareness of the "program" need to be better broadcast for all women who need this as an option.

Hygiene and your hospital {ParentDish}

Aug 29th 2006 10:55PM Reply to:
excuse me, but i am a nurse and i and all the nurses i work with wash our hands until they almost bleed. we do it for the patients but even more so for ourselves and our families. if you ask me, the problem is with the noneducated, don't really care-- housekeepers. i have watched them for 20 years in the hospital- they will use the same mop to mop all the rooms-nasty- just spreading germs everywhere. i just hate it when they put their gloves on (to protect themselves of coarse) and clean an infectious room, then come out of the room with the same dirty gloves on and insist on using the nurses phone at the desk- i have screamed at them many times and they keep doing this-disgusting!! many are hispanic or black with very little education and do not take pride in their work and don't realize the dangers they lie in their hands when they don't clean properly. all the hand washing won't help a darn thing if the housekeepers are spreading the crap all over the place-everything is then contagious and you can't wear gloves 100% of the time.

Well, now, aren't we a little testy! You are educated? (to protect themselves of coarse) Learn to spell, and maybe you will have some credibility. That my dear is course. Not coarse as in salt or sugar. You apparently appear to be racist too and your attitude bothers me. There are plenty of whites with little education as you appear to be. I am also white, but do not care to hear from losers like you as to what race is to blame for spreading germs. It has no relevance what so ever. Everyone should take more precautions for the well being of germ spreading. If the hired help is not getting it, maybe the place where you work should have more in-services on the subject. A little understanding from a nurse such as yourself might not be to yell at the help, but explain the problem and solution to the one doing the wrong thing (for at least the first time). You could also recommend to your employer an in-service on the subject for all. Also, I am sure the facility in which you work does not provide new mops for each room; what choice does the help have in that matter?! Swiffer could make a killing couldn't they?
