Oct 28th 2008 1:17PM Why I'm voting for Obama: Great financial advisors in Raines, Johnson, Dodd, Frank, Waters, Pelosi, Reid et al who were all complict in driving Fannie and Freddie into the dirt; Chris Dodd (a sweetheart loan from Countrywide), Barney Frank et al abetting the driving; spreading the wealth from people who work to people who don't have much motivation to do more than get a GS-2 government job (or equivalent). Notice that BHO says he wants to spread Joe's wealth, not his own. I hope people do stop and think before they vote. As much as people bash the high flying CEOs and their 'golden parachutes' (including Frank Raines and Jim Johnson who aren't being bashed at all even though they are the real culprits in the collapse of Freddie and Fannie), has anyone thought what raising the taxes on the corporations and small businesses will do - they raise the prices of the goods being sold because the purchasers ultimately pay those taxes. And, if those products are not purchased, what happens to the stocks and employment of those companies - they plummet. And, if the stocks and employment plummet, what happens to the dividends in the 401K / 403B accounts - there won't be any, as well as no capital gins to tax. And, now George Miller (D-CA) has introduced doing away with the tax breaks of 401K / 403B accounts, because the government is losing money - think about that for awhile. And, now, John Kerry wants a New Deal II - the first New Deal wasn't doing anything but putting the US further in debt and started the nanny state. The only thing that brought the US out of the depression was WWII. Unfortunately, it took a war to solve that issue, but we still have the nanny state, and it will only get worse. And, now, Joe B wants to go after the retirements of those dastardly CEO's. If he goes after those, what other retirement funds aren't far behind (because Joe B says that's patriotic). Remember, congress' retirement fund is guaranteed by laws passed by congress. However, I'm voting Democrat because: 1) I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn; 2) freedom of speech is fine as long as everybody agrees with me; 3) when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing; 4) I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years; 5) I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies as long as we keep all death row inmates alive; 6) I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits (they should just give any excess to the government to spread the wealth); 7) I believe we need to rewrite the Constitution every few months to suit the liberals who have never been able to get their agendas passed by congress... or past the voters; 8) I believe that when the terrorists don't have to hide from us over there, and then come over here, I don't want to have any guns in the house to fight them or ACORN off; 9) I believe oil company profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 18% isn't; and, 10) I don't want to be called a racist.

Joe doesn't have a plummer's license, but he is going to take the test (good luck since the Plummers Union has endorsed BHO). Joe does want to expand his current business, but has the unmitigated gall to believe he knows how to spend his money better than the government, and doesn't want to share with those who are waiting for their next cost of living adjustment to their welfare check.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

Oct 16th 2008 5:35PM For those who don't wish to believe it, believe it - Barack Hussein Obama is still a Muslim. When a child is born of a Muslim father, that child is also Muslim. This is much like the Catholic Church was when one of the parents was Catholic; they had to "sign over" their children to be brought up as Catholic. Nowhere has it been shown that Barack Hussein Obama has renounced his Muslim faith. And, if he did so, he would be subject to a death fatwa issued by any number of Muslim clerics who have already issued death fatwas against all Westerners. I deployed to the Middle East for over 5 years and lived and worked in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi for over 3 years where I discussed Islam and Allah (PBUH) at length in many diwaniyas to become more familiar with Islam and some of their culture. Arabic is my sxth language after Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, French, and Tagalog. I also served as a Legis Fellow and worked National Security issues focused on the Middle East.

Oct 4th 2008 6:34PM Of the 33M first mortgages on the books, how many are at risk? How much would it really cost to secure the shaky mortgages? Why is it that the ones who planned, worked, properly qualified, and are paying their mortgages have to bailout the people who screwed this up, including the oversight committees and commissions? In Oct 1987, the DOW plunged 23%. People are getting hysterical now as they did in 1987. It’s not panic time; think about this first (for quite awhile). This is not life or death, and yes this is a bailout, because the taxpayer is not going to see any of this $700B after it is allocated; CPAs & lawyers will see to that; it will go to the likes of Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson, Jamie Gorelick, Rham Emmanuel, Janet Reno, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank (whose partner is an exec in Fannie), Chris Dodd, Kent Conrad et al.
Why are they abdicating their responsibility and authority to one person who cannot possibly control the value of property unless we are now truly a socialist country? I would do all in my power to see those who voted yes defeated the this election cycle. Their actions are unconscionable. And, how about some of those tax breaks - $10M for the excise tax on toy wooden arrows for kids, $200+M for expenses by Hollywood filmmakers, etc. They are addicted to OUR money!!! And, how did the bill's cost increase to $840B - pork greased the skids.
Remember, the Constitution states, “promote the general welfare”, not “insure the general welfare”. But, welfare is what the Democrat party is all about, and, apparently, so is the Republican party, now.

Further Barack (call me if you need me)Hussein Obama proposes another $250B in new programs. We should be grateful since this is down $500B from his previous proposal. They are counting on getting more money back from this bailout (investment?) thatn they put up, which means they will start spending on programs with even more money they don't FROM US. Whatever happened to the Peace Dividend - it was the same thing!!
