J.Lo Is Furious That 'Idol' Is All About Steven Tyler {PopEater}
Feb 2nd 2011 12:20PM Why is it, even though I am not an avid fan of Aerosmith, I can think of a lot of their songs off the top of my head and don't remember a single one by Jennifer Lopez even though she's supposed to be from my generation music wise.
Al Gore Buys A Montecito Mansion {Luxist}
May 2nd 2010 12:46PM Yeah like any one of you wouldn't jump at the chance to live in a place like this if you had the chance. Don't lie. He just bought the place. Give him a chance to remodel it before you bash.
Inside Disney's exclusive Club 33, where the recession doesn't seem to matter {WalletPop}
Feb 3rd 2010 12:36PM The food served at Club 33 is not the same as what can be obtained in the theme park. Would it have better if B had said that the entrance to the club was stocked with stalkers and shutterbugs? That would be a fair statement.
The Sad Story of the Man Who Leaked 'Wolverine' {Moviefone Blog}
Jan 28th 2010 10:30AM Ok this guy knowingly bought stolen merchandise and then proceeded to upload it so others could watch it without buying a ticket and I'm supposed to have sympathy for him? No way. If I were the parent of his grandkids, I would bar him from ever seeing them again if he's teaching them it's ok to steal and support piracy.
School District Apologizes for MLK Lunch Menu {ParentDish}
Jan 14th 2010 1:33AM Actually the "sunburn and heat exhaustion in the winter" is not the best analogy. I grew up in the Denver area and sunburn is all too common, especially from reflected rays off the snow (been there done that unfortunately) and if you're wearing too many layers when Mom bundles you up for sledding or skiing the heat can get to you too (been there done that too) but I get your point.
School District Apologizes for MLK Lunch Menu {ParentDish}
Jan 14th 2010 1:22AM The only insult I see here is to the food. Can a school cafeteria really do it justice?
Everclear Alcohol Incident at Drake University May Lead to Ban in Iowa {Politics Daily}
Jan 11th 2010 10:19PM Vile tasting stuff. I don't want to see it banned because I do believe in it as an alternative to denatured alcohol. Years ago, I got talked into drinking it straight after being told it was Grandma's home made peach schnapps. One small sip was like ingesting a few drops of fire that slowly burned its way down my esophagus and into my stomach. The punch that I knew was made from it tasted like Robitussin. I'm just surprised someone could manage to get enough of it down to get to a blood alcohol level of .5.
Ho, Ho . . . Whoa! Secularists Get the Holiday Spirit {Politics Daily}
Nov 24th 2009 3:13PM OK unlearned Christians, Mary and Joseph were on their way to be counted for the Roman Census. The Romans did not conduct the census in the wintertime, so there's no way Jesus was actually born anywhere near the winter solstice. Since the early leaders of the Church had no knowledge of Jesus' actual birth date, they assigned a date around a pagan holiday to subvert the pagan beliefs and bring pagans into the Church.
If some Christians want to lock the Humanists out of Christmas, they should shed all of the secular decorations and traditions since they have nothing to do with Christ's birth. That means no trees especially with Hallmark Keepsake ornaments of Star Trek characters or Barbies, Wreaths, Snowmen, Santa, Rudolph, Christmas movies about anything other than the Nativity,Christmas Dinner, and the only permissible gifts would be Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.
History, anthropology, and archeology show that belief systems have risen and fallen many times since we were hunter gatherers. A couple thousand years from now, people may be visiting the ruins of the Vatican, Westminster Abbey or other iconic sites that are the center of the belief system of the moment, just like contemporary people visit South American Temples, Karnak or the Parthenon.
Merry Christmas!
Let us now pray: Church mortgage delinquencies on the rise {WalletPop}
Nov 23rd 2009 10:21PM Churches are just another piece of commercial real estate. Churches are nothing more than businesses praying on the gullible and should be taxed as businesses.
Mall Santas Fear Swine Flu {Holidash News}
Nov 19th 2009 9:43AM I've been vaccinated for H1N1 and seasonal flu and my 4 year old has been vaccinated. No side effects for either of us. I know the news is broadcasting cattle calls for the shots but keep calling your doctor to find out if their stock is in yet if you can't wait hours in line. My daughter's pediatrician called me to let me know they had vaccine available, but don't trust that you'll get a call just because you're on a list. Bug them about it. I went to my GYN for my yearly checkup and they had a sign on the wall that said H1N1 vaccines available now and they had plenty of doses for their non-pregnant patients. What they were out of was the vaccine for pregnant women. So keep checking people, the shots are out there, you just need to find them. You know there will be a glut available later in the flu season. But keep checking now.
