We may not have the same program, I am on Methadone Maintenance, but we both know the agony and the horrible life of being an addict in active addiction...Whatever gets a person clean, is ok with me..I can't believe that the hateful posters on here don't know anyone who has this deadly diease because they wouldn't be saying the horrible things they are saying..I have lost so many friends to drugs I can't believe I am alive at 56 years old..I started using at 14 and I tried everything to get clean..At 46 I was still using and knew I had 2 choices and I picked Methadone..For me it works, and I applaude you and your daughter on your recover..Jeff was a human being and people are saying so many bad things, to those people just remember Karma..........

Jun 1st 2011 10:27PM Doc, you are a mean human being, I take it that you have never known anyone or had a family member who is a drug addict. Your post is one of the evilest I have seen, and there are a lot of evil posts. One day when your kids or grandkids or best friend dies from drugs are you still going to be stuck on stupid? Maybe when you looked at Jeff you saw your own face in the mirror..Usually when a person hates someone as much as you do, it is because they see themselves. Karma Doc, Karma.....Now I hope you get a real life and STFU. Addiction is a diease, I have the diease of addiction. and I take great offence by your hateful words..It took me till the age of 46 to quit killing myself and I got on Methadone Maintenance. This was after trying 12 steps,rehabs, detoxes, nothing worked Methadone isn't for everyone but it has saved my life....

Jun 1st 2011 7:46AM If that quake Dr Drew would have put Jedd on Methadone for his pain instead of pushing 12 step BS and cold turkey down his throat he would still be alive..I can't wait until Drew is sued for malpractice one day soon
RIP Jeff, you are loved..We are the same age and If I would have gone to Drew instead of a methadone program, I would be dead too...I don't believe in Heaven or Hell, but I know you are in a better place than this shiathole, have fun brother whearever you are..You will always be loved

Feb 9th 2011 6:04PM Finally, someone who knows what is happening to this woman..I am a recovering heroin addict, and even though what you say is true, it may not be her time to stop. I used until I was 46 years old, and hit so many bottoms that I now know that I don't have a bottom, my bottom is death..I tried 12 steps for 12 years, did everything that was asked of me, but I still was miserable..12 step programs help many people, but at the age of 46 after trying everything I choose to be on opiate replacement therapy. These last 11 years have been the happiest of my life..When an addict is ready, they will get recovery in whatever recovery program works, she is young, don't write her off, as long as we have a breathe of life, there is hope!!

Feb 9th 2011 5:51PM She not being in jail has nothing to do with who she is..Jails and prisons are for people who are violent felons, drug addicts belong in treatment whether it be 12 step, opiate replacement, Rational Recovery, or even religion...More than half of our Prisons are filled up with people who don't belong there

The jails in Ca are overcrowded, and most of the men and women in the CDC don't even belong in prison..I am just curious to know how not locking Linsey up will cost Ca more money??
