Bed Bugs Cause British Airways Passenger to Set Up Complaint Website {AOL Travel News}

Feb 27th 2011 1:50PM Uh, Cayce58, ever wondered how long it takes for something to become resistant to treatments? Are you aware of antibiotics that are now virtually incapable of treating some infections? It's not a stretch to equate the end of DDT with a new crop of BB's, but even if that were not the case (& just ask a pest control agency about eliminating BB's& if they're honest, they'll tell you that DDT is the only effective & permanent method to do so), you can still level the charge of genocide & infanticide at the environmentalists since malaria & subsequent deaths was skyrocketed since ending DDT. If you really did your homework, you'd see the correlation between BB infestation & no DDT...hotels that spray are under the same dreadful EPA rules that prevent using ANYTHING powerful enough to stop BB's...so until we get out from under this death-dealing agency, prepare to be 'bitten'....

Bed Bugs Cause British Airways Passenger to Set Up Complaint Website {AOL Travel News}

Feb 27th 2011 1:39PM Thank you, Bob, for pointing out that DDT once controlled these little beasts. And we can thank the enviro's & the EPA for ending the use of DDT, resulting in millions of malaria deaths, the majority being children, & gifting us with these blood-sucking bugs. I grew up on a farm where DDT was used profusely--neither I nor my siblings suffered any ill effects so I knew it did no harm--in fact, the harm lies with its discontinuation & frankly, those who refuse to allow its use again should be held accountable for the pain, suffering & death caused by their unsubstantiated claims & resultant ban. Pest control co's readily admit that DDT was & is the only successful method of eliminating BB's--just makes you want to send a few truckloads of infected bedding to the office of the EPA, along with some malaria carrying mosquitos...maybe it's time to rid our world of death-dealing, misery-making environmental nazi's....dontcha' think?

IKEA to Dump Incandescent Bulbs and Lighten Environmental Impact {WalletPop}

Jan 5th 2011 1:44PM Now that's a lawsuit I could support! The EPA idiots never look at the consequences of what they force us to do. So what if banning DDT has cost millions of lives to malaria--our generous gov't can just spend $$$ sending $10 mosquito nets to folks who refuse to use them because they're so tightly woven the heat & humidity is stifling. And have you noticed that everything they mandate costs us more--not just these damn bulbs but what they've done to cars, gas, power plants, coal...the list is endless. It's time the entire agency was eliminated, once & for all, then maybe some of this nonsense & destruction would end....

IKEA to Dump Incandescent Bulbs and Lighten Environmental Impact {WalletPop}

Jan 5th 2011 1:39PM Count me in! So disappointing that IKEA would cave & do this...just means I won't be darkening their doors ever again! I despise those CFL's & all you need to do is see who rakes in the cash from 'em & you'll get a clue as to why our corrupt leaders mandated their use!

Did Zach Galifianakis Force Mel Gibson Out of 'The Hangover 2'? {PopEater}

Oct 22nd 2010 10:46PM Zach who? Never heard of 'im & judging from his pic, I doubt he'd make much of an impression anyway...But Mel--now THAT'S a guy I'd watch any day...

Behind The Ethanol Controversy {Translogic}

Oct 20th 2010 11:32PM darby leyva, you are so right about the damage done by the EPA. You say "these idiots WILL destroy the life and freedoms we know and love" & you couldn't be more correct. Everyone is aware of the freedoms they've denied us, the $$$ they've cost us, but some may not know their record of death in malaria-prone countries where the banning of DDT has resulted in millions of deaths, mostly children, even tho the chemical has never been proven to be dangerous. Growing up on a farm where it was used in abundance, neither I nor my siblings ever suffered ANY consequences of being around it. The EPA,like the majority of gov't agencies--can we say the DOE, NEA, Planned Parenthood, etc.--do nothing but cause harm & cost us money. All of them need to be shut down permanently.

Oprah Gives 'Daily Show' Audience Free Trip to 'Rally to Restore Sanity' {PopEater}

Oct 15th 2010 1:13PM Guess Oprah thinks the only way to get folks to this stupid rally is to pay their way. 'Restore sanity'? What sanity? Are Stewart & Colbert insinuating that the Beck rally was 'insanity'? What a crock! The behavior of the people at Beck's rally was impeccable--a far cry from the rally held later with all the unions bussing in their members, who then left the grounds a mess. The folks at Beck's PAID THEIR OWN WAY,didn't need a union bus to bring 'em in or Oprah to give 'em a ticket...but I guess she has to do something to continue backing up her starry-eyed, worshipful support of Obama, the scourge of America....

Photonic Fence Blasts Mosquitos with Lasers {Switched}

Sep 25th 2010 12:21AM Thank you for your support regarding DDT. And you're right, of course, it's just that 'the powers that be' just can't seem to admit that ridding the country & most of the world of this chemical was a huge, death-dealing mistake....

Photonic Fence Blasts Mosquitos with Lasers {Switched}

Sep 25th 2010 12:18AM Thank you both for bringing up DDT--and the 'no money' thought may be correct. Altho DDT was used so widely that it became less effective, it still remains the least expensive & most preventive measure against malaria, as well as the current invasion of bedbugs here in the USA. Will politicians & their rabid enviro terrorists allow this? Apparently not...rather than admit they've caused death & mayhem by their blundering, they keep right on with the progam...it's time for all of 'em to be stripped of power & sent to Africa with their own personal mosquito nets...& nothing more

Photonic Fence Blasts Mosquitos with Lasers {Switched}

Sep 25th 2010 12:06AM @(Unverified) This 'idiot' say's, 'Contrary to your 'thoughtful' yet obviously unresearched post, I submit the following:'
Extensive hearings on DDT before an EPA administrative law judge occurred during 1971-1972. The EPA hearing examiner, Judge Edmund Sweeney, concluded that "DDT is not a carcinogenic hazard to man... DDT is not a mutagenic or teratogenic hazard to man... The use of DDT under the regulations involved here do not have a deleterious effect on freshwater fish, estuarine organisms, wild birds or other wildlife."

[Sweeney, EM. 1972. EPA Hearing Examiner's recommendations and findings concerning DDT hearings, April 25, 1972 (40 CFR 164.32, 113 pages). Summarized in Barrons (May 1, 1972) and Oregonian (April 26, 1972)]
Overruling the EPA hearing examiner, EPA administrator Ruckelshaus banned DDT in 1972. Ruckelshaus never attended a single hour of the seven months of EPA hearings on DDT. Ruckelshaus' aides reported he did not even read the transcript of the EPA hearings on DDT.

[Santa Ana Register, April 25, 1972]
After reversing the EPA hearing examiner's decision, Ruckelshaus refused to release materials upon which his ban was based. Ruckelshaus rebuffed USDA efforts to obtain those materials through the Freedom of Information Act, claiming that they were just "internal memos." Scientists were therefore prevented from refuting the false allegations in the Ruckelshaus' "Opinion and Order on DDT."
As a postscript, I might add that my childhood was spent on a farm--you know one of those odd things with cows, horses, chickens, vegetable garden--& DDT was used regularly. Now, as then, neither I nor my siblings suffer any consequences of being around it, as didn't my parents, who both lived to the ages of 89 & 91 with few, if any, significant health problems...'nuff said--I stand by my original post & both of you who disagree can continue to avoid checking your so-called facts....
