Jan 22nd 2011 4:21PM I can't stand Olbermann, and he finds a way to get his pathetic liberal rants even into the sports programs he is on. Hence why he was dumped from Football Night. I will not watch any sports show he is hired on to do, and thank god he doesn't do play by play. If he is considered a baseball historian, at least put him on with George Will so we can see him make Olbermann cry!

Nov 9th 2010 11:30AM Baseball has lost its younger demographic, and one of the reasons is the age of announcers. I am 53, but when I was 15 and listening to a broadcast, would I have wanted to listen to stories about games in 1937????? No! But that is what listening to Morgan and McCarver must be like to a kid growing up now! Sure enough, the writer references the "Big Red Machine". Nice stories..save them for Cooperstown. McCarver this year, during the playoffs was in awe that one of the umpires or coaches sang backup once for Hughie Lewis or the Dobbies or someone. What kid has even heard of those groups...and I even didn't care! They need young blood, like Kevin Millar.
