Cindy McCain's $300,000 Outfit for the RNC {Luxist}

Sep 9th 2008 4:23PM So how do we know that she was not looking at a $400k out fit and opted for the $300k outfit and gave the rest to charity. oh wait, we dont know. Why dont we know? because it is none of our business. How do you know the earrings were not a gift? from anyone? we dont. why dont we know? well, you get it. it is not our place to put a spending limit on someone else's wealth whether they can afford it or not. what impact does it have on anyone else? absolutely none, except the individual or business that she bought them from. now...i wonder who that was...

Cindy McCain's $300,000 Outfit for the RNC {Luxist}

Sep 4th 2008 9:45PM I know that ear rings may legitimately be considered part of an "outfit" but seriously? Let's not make it sound like they were an exclusive purchase just for the RNC and that they will not be an every-day enhancement to the wardrobe. I mean, I guess if we KNOW that they were on loan, or purchased for the event, it may be a valid claim, but in all fairness let's just say that the "outift" was somewhere in the neighborhood of $20k. The McCain's are wealthy people and a $20k outfit is not something to be considered extravagant for an event like this, nor is a $280k pair of ear rings for that matter. My uncle is a wealthy man and I remember him spending over $100k on a diamond for my aunt back in the late 80's for their anniversary. It was his gift to her from him and she wore it every day. I would hardly say that she was wearing a $100k outfit every day of the week. Anyway, no bitterness here. This is the ONLY blog that I visit EVERY day, several times a day. Keep it up!
