Jul 30th 2010 11:06PM There's an app for just about everything else...so why not? The typical LCD screen is good for 100,000 hours, and I bet the typical iPhone won't get anywhere close to that before a new model in Apple's annual update parade will sadly tickle the fancy of its owner to otherwise confine the old one to the back of the old gadget drawer. If said owner wants to make his/her old iPhone into a mini streetlamp for their desk...go for it.
Jul 17th 2010 10:04PM @ Giles:
They're livin' large with their signing of Ilgauskas. Nine signed players on their roster, with little money left for anyone else of reasonable talent. Hey, but they got their three superstars, right?
Jul 9th 2010 12:36PM Gilbert: You don't handle breakups very well, do you? You must have been a real piece of work with ex-girlfriends. Good luck signing ANY future stud free agents, because...guess what...they're ALL prima donnas! By throwing James under the proverbial bus like he's done, he's sent a message to all that no matter how great a player has been for the franchise, do anything to torque His Master Paycheck Signer, and you're in for a spiteful, petty hell. Who in their self-preserving, egotistical right mind will want to sign with an owner like that?
Feb 18th 2010 3:42PM Say sumthin'? How about...Greg Couch is an imbecile. To pass commentary on an event that has yet to happen show how LOW journalism and editorial content has become in this country. Pretend--or better yet just make up--that there is a known, pre-calculated pretense to all of this and then serve up a self-serving column shooting it down. Did I get it right? Boy, you MUST be having a hard time getting AOL to justify even the cost of printing out your paycheck stub, eh Couch?
Feb 2nd 2010 7:26PM Grammar and spelling Nazis...ah, indeed this truly IS AOL, after all!
Jan 11th 2010 12:55AM Kinda has a Mazda 6 look to it; not bad, but also no longer part of Ford, either. I think the previous gen European Focus looked better.
GM designs killing Ford? They can't even punch their way out of a financial paper bag. Still borrowing money on the taxpayers' nickel. Stick a fork in GM. Couldn't find a taker for Saab, couldn't get anyone to take Pontiac or Saturn. Even the rats are too disgusted to stay on this s(t)inking ship.
Jan 11th 2010 12:40AM Tesla is the proof-of-concept. It already outguns many Porsches and Ferraris in acceleration, has decent range and is priced competitively. The specialty Porsche tuner Ruf also built their own all-electric 911 using the latest technology available, and it shows that an all-electric powerplant package for the 911 form factor is indeed doable. It would certainly HELP if battery technology were more advanced than the Li-ions that manufacturers are currently stuck with, but even on that front advancements (and, more importantly, investments) are being made. Hybrid tech, while better than no advancement whatsoever, is still just a transitional technology that very much is a compromise when it comes to petroleum dependency.
Oct 22nd 2009 5:59AM $55 mil? And to think that it doesn't even come with a practice putting course, let alone a full 18-holes. Goes to show that $55 mil just doesn't BUY much these days, even in a down economy.
Oct 22nd 2009 5:54AM Ah, these rich folk...they just can't wait to get their grubby (though likely well-manicured) hands on the latest TATA...
Oct 8th 2009 1:24PM Finally...someone who actually understands the etiquette and rights of the FAN. Players like Howard make millions and do so to entertain the person who pays for that salary by going to the park. Besides, this homer was hit in Florida...the Phillies had NO legal standing to try to trick this girl (or anyone else) into giving up this baseball.
That said, and considering the slime of the Phillies' past actions, I now wonder if the Phillies actually gave the REAL ball back.
