Danny Granger Expects Pacers to Deal for a Big Man {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Aug 16th 2010 2:26AM Everybody talking about adding a big man isn`t signing one. The Miami Heat desperately need a pair of young, starting quality, 7 footers, to complete their team, much less become a "super" team. The Hornets and the Pacer each need a 7 footer, too. Maybe the Hornets will sign Harrison, who used to play for the Pacers. InDiana should probably start Foster, to replace Murphy, and pick up a 7 footer off waivers to back up Hibbert. Minneapolis may use the exception the got from Salt Lake City to add Stojacovich or Dunleavy. Then the press can note that would be an all white potential starting five, and can wonder aloud if the Nba is headed back to the all white `40s, or the relatve pro basketball sanity of the 5`50s, when both whites and black were represented proportionately. But size needs won`t shrink back to what they were then. 6`9, 6`7, 6`6, 6`0, and 6`0 can`t start together in the Nba anymore. Bob Cousy has given way to Wilt Chamberlain. Even for teams with smaller front lines. And Walt Bellamy at power forward, with Russ moving to quick forward, and Heinie to the backcourt, leaving out the Celtics enforcer, 6`5, Jungle Jim Luscutoff, would also be preferably, size wise, these days. I doubt there will be any takers for Ford at that salary.
Teri Hatcher Fends Off Critics With Naked Photos {PopEater}
Aug 12th 2010 1:29PM Teri and the voyuers she makes money off of are the only children who matter to her. She has bragged in the past about her incestuous sex appeal, while saying the other person was bad but she was good for being incestuously sexy, bragged about getting and giving strip tease dance lessons, and still advertised by the gay right wing media as a paragon of housemothers and adulterous wives everywhere.
Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra 'Pleasantly Surprised' by LeBron's Decision {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Aug 5th 2010 1:48PM The Lakers could sit Gasol, in a tan western tuxedo, in Bynum, in a brown western tuxedo, on the sidelines, and start Odom on Bosh, Artest on James, and Bryant on Wade, and still compete with the Miami Heat. Riley/Arison need an under the table deal to trade the bottom half of their roster for two starting quality 7 foot post men to match against the Laker all star candidate pair. James, Wade, and Bosh are apparently very good athletes, but they certainly can`t win the Nba championship with little more than Haslem and Miller, quality ball players, to help them.
Shaquille O'Neal Signs With Celtics {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Aug 5th 2010 1:33AM A shamrock is a dutch clover. So I wish the big, green, Dutch Clover well. And the Celtics, too (except in the playoffs!). But it is not the flow I would have looked for. I was hoping Shaq would NOT try to pull an Artis Gilmore, and retire to Boston. Gilmore should have been a first ballot Hall of Famer, but he is still not there. I guess I have to hope now the Celtics will deal off about 3/4 of their limited youth, Davis, Perkins, and Robinson, but keep Rondo, and add a big, quality, young back up center behind Shaq, and convert West into a point guard behind Rondo. The Cavaliers were a mess. Ferry, Brown, James, O`Neal, Ilgauskas, West, gone, others maybe going. Seems West didn`t cause trouble for the Cavs, the Cavs caused trouble for West. Parish was still in the Nba at 44. Jabbar was still starting at 42. Even little John Stockton was still among the Nba stat leaders in 4 categories at 41, and deserved to still be an all star, but wasn`t. I hope the Celtics revive Shaq`s career like the Suns did briefly, but things don`t look hopeful at the moment in that regard.
LeBron Thanks Akron in Newspaper Ad, Doesn't Mention Cleveland {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Aug 3rd 2010 11:34PM The Cleveland Fans who thought Silence is Golden and Ignorance Is Bliss did Miami fans a favor. They lost Dan Ferry, Mike Brown, LeBron James, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Delonte West, and may lose Shaq because they and their media refused to face facts. If Gilbert REALLY cares about loyalty, OR winning, he`ll try to sign O`Neal to start with Varajao and Jamison. Shaq has deservingly been an all star so far with every team he has worked for, except his one season last year with Cleveland, which he hasn`t left yet. But I bet Shaq leaves and Ryan Hollins or JJ Hickson starts, unless the go even smaller, Parker up front, Gibson and Williams in the backcourt. As for paragraphs, my computer program won`t skip lines, I`ve tried. Can`t strike thru nor underline, I`ve tried. I always type with two spaces after each sentence. Aol always condences them to one space. If folks don`t know how to read, let them keep to their coloring books, and leave the blogs to the big kids and the adults.
Dwight Howard Already Tired of Miami's Big Three Talk {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Aug 2nd 2010 11:05PM The quote said Howard said THOSE RETURNING had to man up, not that those leaving had failed to. Barnes got to return home to L.A., , the champs. He`s happy, despite no offer from Orlando. Orlando had started him, and only added one guy who would have competed with him at forward, Richardson, so presumably Howard was hoping Barnes would be back starting, or first wing forward off the bench. But while they didn`t lose a lot from a team which failed to win the championship, they didn`t add a lot, so I expect some of his grumpiness is disappointment in management. This pro Miami hype is grotesquely premature at best. Let Riley trade several deep reserves for a starting 7 footer, or two or three, and THEN wonder if they are as good as the Magic. They are still only three stars and two key reserves, three short, literally and figuratively, of the Lakers with their two all star candidate 7 footers, Bryant, Odom, Artest, etc. If a team has to have a hole in the starting line up, much better to have a has been little guard like Fisher than no starting center. Cleveland had a better team the last two years than Miami has at the moment, and we know how that was, all hype and Ls when it mattered.
LeBron James Should Stop Trying to Be Like Mike {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Jul 31st 2010 5:51AM Markazi clearly has already accomplished his objective, whether it was a worthy objective or not. As for Mr. Moore, it seems he believes himself to be among the nearly half of Americans who prefer monogamy to serial polygamy. Can`t fault him for that. To each their own. Also seems he believes if Mr. Jordan thinks a Friars Club roast is classy and funny, that he is in error on both points. I do disagree with him there. It is funny. Classy is another matter. Jordan is the best scoring/defending wing guard so far. He didn`t assist or rebound as well as Oscar Robertson did, but Oscar was not all pro defensively, and while he was a great scorer, Jordan was even greater. The five top scorers all time average 6`11. Jordan is the smallest of them. Tied with Chamberlain for best scoring average, though he didn`t face the constant size and race hatred campaign against his scoring Chamberlain did, despite being the same race.
Racism still dominates the country. Just look at the prisons. 3% of the country are vital black males, 85% of the inmates are. But racism is far less, even in now than in Wilt`s era. Several of Wilt`s seasons were vastly superior to Mike`s. Not just in scoring, but in field goal percentage, rebounding, etc. Even assists. All five top scorers were all pro defensively. But since three of them were centers, a power forward, and a wing guard, they couldn`t blend as a team. The glue guys needed would most likely be John Havlicek and Jerry West. Also all pro defenders. That seems like heresy to some, leaving out Bill Russell, the only major name not a high scorer, and/or leaving out Robertson. Both players who excell at both ends of the court are better than those who only excell at one end of the court. The Miami Heat in some ways are the new Salt Lake City Jazz. James is slightly smaller than Malone, a better assist man who will need to improve his rebounding. He will not average a triple double. Wade`s assists will see to that. Wade is a bigger, better inside, not as good outside, version of Hornacek. Bosh is much bigger, but Stockton was MUCH better. Remember how many championships the Jazz won? The Heat will win at least as many, but unless they add quality 7 foot post men, no more.
Was Angelina Jolie Worth Her 'Salt' Paycheck? {PopEater}
Jul 26th 2010 8:54PM Did she keep her clothes on, and not fake sex with a gay man, with a necklace, like that darling little one adorning Brad and his mmoney Pitt? No? Then there is nothing wrong here, is there? Honest as ever, and worth every cent of that 20 bucks. 20 MILLION bucks? As believable as the shrimp with the necklace being straight. Should the gay actor and the lez cutie get married, tie the knot? Why bother?
Stephon Marbury Would Welcome Chance to Play for Heat {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Jul 26th 2010 6:21PM Veterans with name appeal have to be wary of teams trying to waste their time, encouraging them to try out so the team can trade of their name value, not not seriously considering them for a paying job. If the Heat are able to trade SEVERAL marginal players, like Anthony, Jones, Chalmers, MaGloire, etc., for a starting center, THEN cash up front could maybe get a name veteran like McGrady, Marbury, Iverson, interested.
Can Tracy McGrady Help the Bulls? {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Jul 25th 2010 7:44PM "Da" Bulls dealt off Kirk Hinrich, then picked up two 6`7 guards,both from the Utah Jazz, Korver and Brewer, via Memphis. Seems to me, McGrady would be more likely to help Salt Lake City on the court than Chicago. And Shane Battier was not doing McGrady a favor, bailing him out of a jam, he was doing his job. Bryant was assigned to guard McGrady, but Battier was assigned to guard Bryant. If Battier didn`t guard Bryant, why else would he have been on the court? McGrady did the scoring and passing, not Battier. If the Jazz were to move this summer to (Viva!) LasVegas, he would help them sell tickets, too. Likewise for O`Neal starting for the Las Vegas Jazz under coach Sloan, in the Karl Malonerole offensively, Mark Eaton/Greg Ostertag role defensively, as the Male/Mail/Post Man. Or they could both join the Mavericks, if Cubanisn`t allergic to championship contention, since Shaq could provide them with inside offense, which no one else on their Few coaches in the league inspire more respect on the defensive end than Sloan, though his offense is too mechanical, in to Malone/Boozer from Stockton/Williams.
