To the men, and it's always men, who discount her efforts by saying she didn't do her share financially for the marriage, I suggest you try to hire someone to clean your house, do your laundry, cook your meals, run your errands, buy your clothes, listen to your BS, provide you with physical comfort and all the other things women do in a marriage, 24/7 with no days off and a work day that doesn't end, THEN tell me she didn't do her fair share. You couldn't afford her if you didn't marry her!

Jan 12th 2012 12:19AM Are you trying to blame empty rooms at hotels on the staff? It's not them.
I used to love to stay in hotels but as this author has written, it can be a trying experience when you're dealing with other patrons who think they're the only ones in the hotel.
As for tips, people who behave like the people mentioned in the story don't leave tips. They also don't feel guilty because they don't realize that they're a problem and like that team mom wrote in an earlier post, they don't even see themselves.

Jan 12th 2012 12:10AM Commenting on the rudeness of other patrons is not acting like a baby or even complaining! It's an OBSERVATION of how civilization has deteriorated.
Maybe these hit a little too close to home to your behavior in hotels. Many people walk into a hotel thinking they own the place. Is THAT you?

Jan 11th 2012 11:58PM The rude people are the ones the hotel staff are commenting on. They're the ones that leave an impression. The quiet people who mind their own business, don't make a lot of noise or cause problems are pretty much not memorable.
Who sticks out more in your mind? Someone that was polite and quiet or some PITA that you could hardly tolerate?

Jan 11th 2012 1:46AM BOA charged me to cash a check. The check was from one of their bank accounts. I don't (and never will) have an account with them. They also made me put my fingerprint on the check! When I offered to spit on the check so they'd have a DNA sample they declined. I can't imagine why. I would gladly have done it for them.
