Are 'Babies' the New Penguins? {Moviefone Blog}
Mar 22nd 2010 1:13AM Your comment sounds defensive to me. What does living in the 21st century have to do with having or not having children? No one has to have children if they don't want to. One shouldn't be judged because they choose not to have children. I just don't understand how someone doesn't find a baby cute.

Mar 22nd 2010 12:47AM Why would someone who is pro choice be opposed to this movie? I'm pro choice and I happen to love babies. I have three grown sons. I loved my baby sons and I love my adult sons. Being pro choice doesn't mean that you don't love babies.

Mar 22nd 2010 12:26AM Did I miss something? Who said only women find babies adorable? It seems that some of the women who have responded are a bit defensive about not finding babies adorable. If you choose not to have children, it's still okay to believe that babies are special and cute as they can be. They are innocent, hold no malice toward anyone and are a joy to behold.
I'm a woman who finds babies absolutely precious. I don't apologize for feeling this way. To watch a baby experience something for the first time is a gift. The smile that appears on your face will reappear every time you remember that sweet little face reacting to a new experience.
I'm happy that I love babies. They make me smile because they smile at me when I smile at them.
My 3 grown sons were once babies. I treasure their babyhood and the memories and smiles that still remain in my heart and soul.
Bright Idea: A Bamboozled Banister {Shelterpop}
Mar 21st 2010 2:16PM When you add a stair rail, you need to be sure it's substantial enough to hold up to someone tripping on the stairs and grabbing for the stair rail for stability. It concerns me that the open side of the stairway doesn't have a rail. Anyone could slip coming down the stairs and fall off of the open side.
Even though the vases are pretty at the bottom of the stairs, I think the landing should be clear of objects. It appears that there is enough wall space opposite the stairs and directly above the landing. A shelf might be a better solution for displaying the vases, and a good way to keep the landing clear.

Mar 21st 2010 12:59PM How do you know the homeless want to be homeless? You need to check your facts to see that the majority of homeless people are children. If a parent works at a minimum wage job or even a job paying $8 per hour, how in the world can they pay all of their bills and still eat? What if that hard-working American is laid off from their job? If someone only makes minimum wage, there is no way to have an emergency cushion in the bank. In the type of economic situation in which we are in, many people are one paycheck away from being on the street. Your landlord won't let you live in your home rent free. Your utility companies won't let you use their power and gas for free. The grocery story requires that you pay when you check out. You shouldn't be so judgmental. Everyone doesn't have the ability to go to college or the ability to obtain credit in order to sustain themselves when they lose a job. You need to have compassion for those less fortunate than you. One never knows when one may lose everything.

Mar 21st 2010 12:35PM Frank Lloyd Wright's granddaughter, Ann Baxter, was an actress in the 40's and 50's. She played in a movie opposite Bette Davis as Davis' understudy. Baxter's character stole the role from Davis and also took Davis' husband in the movie. I can't remember the title of the movie.

Mar 19th 2010 9:56PM I think the entry looks junky. A doorstop would definitely be needed as someone noted, because otherwise the door would bump against all the things hanging on the wall.
Since the door opens in and would hit the left wall, why not put the hooks on the opposite wall. Personally, with an entry so small, I would simply place a narrow table on the opposite wall, place a mirror above the table, and put a large basket underneath the table to hold the things that are hanging on the hooks. The top of the table could have a pretty basket for keys and mail.

Mar 19th 2010 9:18PM Fraternal twins are twins that don't look alike. Maternal twins are identical twins. I won't go into detail as to how it happens, but the writer must not know the difference. She should have used her dictionary when she proofed her story - if she proofed her story.
