Utah Immigration Law Blocked; Similarities to Arizona's SB 1070 Cited {AOL Noticias}

May 12th 2011 2:48AM Caitlin: Many Constitutional provisions and protections apply not only to U.S. citizens but to any and all persons within the borders U.S. or otherwise subject to the jurisdiction of it's courts. All persons within its borders are entitled to equal protection of the law. That being said, none should be entitled to or victimized by unequal application of the law either.

Can I Make My Family Accept My Baby's Name? {ParentDish}

Sep 13th 2010 12:21AM I'm not hugely well travelled but have lived in DC, VA, NC, AZ, and Shenyang, PRC, and have at least visited a bit in a number of other states. But at 52, I have neither met nor heard of anyone with "Bodhi" as a first name - and none with that spelling as a last name - so I think it qualfies as "unusual" and have to wonder WHERE one would have to live that it would not be so. That being said - it's not so bad. Appears to be pronounced "Bodie" - which just sounds like a nickname or last name. Masculine, somewhat individual - I don't think it veers to the celebrity freakish - Go for it. But geez - give Bill a break. The "Apple's" and Dweezils, Pilot Inspektors" and boys named Sue of the world need somebody to speak up for them too.

May 13th 2010 8:40PM Freaking amazing dancers: Athletic, energetic and they looked like they were having fun but the costumes and some of those moves??? Leg-spread squatting, bend-over- butt in the air, and those gyrations? Geez. It's really over the top perverse. Kinda sick!

Report: Chrysler legal turns into schoolyard bully over use of Ram logo *UPDATE {Autoblog}

Report: Chrysler legal turns into schoolyard bully over use of Ram logo *UPDATE {Autoblog}

Feb 22nd 2010 3:44PM There's an unfortunate maxim to U.S. trademark law: If you fail to vigorously defend it - you may lose it. It puts companies in an unpopular and awkward situation where they have to defend their marks sympathetic entities but if they don't and their lawyers fail to dilligently pursue, they risk losing their trademark - and it'd be sheer negligence on the part of their attorneys. Read the response from Chryser - They're doing the right thing - paying for a design team to make a new logo for the school, covering the costs and extending the time for the school to comply.

Barney Frank and Ron Paul Team Up to Decriminalize Marijuana {Politics Daily}

Jul 15th 2009 5:14PM There's nothing "conservative" about the nanny-state and private use of marijuana. I don't use it. Think it unhealthy and a sign of irresponsibility and immaturity - but as long as private, out of public places and not a health hazard to bystanders - It's a personal stupidity or perhaps a helpful medical supplement - and has no business being criminalized by our overly intrusive gov't. Too many so-called conservatives want the gov't out of their pocket - and into everyone else's bedrooms and personal lives, monitoring and penalizing everyone else's conduct to make sure it uhh (can't think of the word) is in accord with their personal beliefs. They want America to essentially be an Islamic state - with their preferred Christian ayatollahs in charge. They pushed their religious beliefs into gov't and are now chagrinned to realize they've given gov't power significant power over religion, such as to define the religious institution of marriage.
