Amai Champagne Brownies {Luxist}

Dec 29th 2006 8:10AM I would buy these brownies for a special occasion, and no that doesn't make me a bad person or someone who won't help the homeless. For the love of all things holy, we all spend frivolously (or however that's spelled) once in a while and there is nothing wrong with it. I don't make a ton of money, like most people, yet my boyfriend and I donate to the church and various charities all the time. I'm listening to a $300 Mp3 player as I type this and I don't feel the least bit guilty about how much food that $300 could have bought a homeless person/family because I donate all the time. You know what? The people crying and moaning about the homeless have annoyed me so much that I'm going to go buy these brownies right now! BWAH HA HA! Get down off your high-horses and get over yourselves.

Dixie Chicks' Reality TV Picks {The Boot}

Jun 26th 2006 9:30PM OK to call Natalie fat is just mean. I HATE country music, it is truly the tool of the devil, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But honestly, I don't think the Dixie Chicks should be surprised by their feedback or even upset by it. The cost of voicing your opinion is that people aren't going to always agree and your record sales, if you are a musician are going to suffer. I honestly think that if the Dixie Chicks were a Rock n Roll band, this wouldn't be the issue. Look at System of a Down, Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against the Machine (GOSH I MISS THEM!), Eddie Vedder, etc... They all have voice anti-government policy opinions and no one made a huge deal of it. It's not that Natalie's comments were shocking, it's the fact that they came from someone from an area that is notoriously pro-military, pro-government. The only thing that disgusts me about Natalie is that she took it back. At least have the guts to stand by what you said. Sheesh!
