May 10th 2011 11:12AM I would say the situation is definetly "worse." Case in point: "Undercovers." Here you had a show with two beautiful Black lead characters,both educated,articulate,highly trained CIA operatives. It was cancelled due to lack of viewership,yet that ridiculous,buffoonish Tyler Perry mess "Meet the Browns" is still on. Something is wrong. Yes,there are Black ensemble characters in many shows,like Law and Order SVU and Gray's Anatomy and The Event,but no lead characters. The Isaiah Washington thing still grates because many actors have done much worse(Charlie Sheen,anyone?) and kept their jobs much longer. Right now the ONLY show on television where you are going to see a majority of Black actors,and it isn't some idiotic comedy is "Treme" on HBO. Good show,but it's HBO. As far as the broadcast networks,forget it. Shame.
