Jan 1st 2009 10:29AM Guys, you have to remember that this post was by Deidre Wollard, the same person who said that the last enclosed mall in the US was built in 2006.
Deidre is clearly someone that lives under a rock, and uses the internet to get all her facts. FOR GOD SAKE, LOOK OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW DEIDRE!! The world isn't over (unfortunately for you) and people are just experiencing a slight downgrade in lifestyle, or have the same lifestyle but with lower figures in their bank accounts (like myself).
People come on Luxist for 'Luxist' news, and not for depressing as well as exaggerated economic news from a woman that probably earns a low 5 figure salary as a primary school teacher.
Dec 29th 2008 6:43PM I think the rent is doubling because it hasn't been changed since 1999, so its not like it came unexpected for him.
Dec 22nd 2008 10:19PM Wait, what!?!?!
So are the London buses going to have A.S. badges? Are they going to to actually manufacture them or would it just be their design?
Dec 20th 2008 7:21PM Yeah I never understood why people still buy Lexus. Their design is so conservative and they never change. I think they are too scared to make design risks in their real production cars.
$306K for that? I think that car looks so tacky that it is clear this car was made for someone's barbie teenage daughter. There are so many quality cars you could get instead.
Dec 19th 2008 11:24PM I wonder if her insurance will cover it. I know many insurers these days don't cover losses due to negligence (such as leaving the door open).
Dec 17th 2008 4:25PM Gresso is a knock-off Vertu. They don't even have a proper store, or any dealers outside Russia.
Its just a bunch sweaty Russians rehousing Nokia phones. Their phones look so ugly, clearly designed by someone of no taste!
I'd rather spend $20K on a Vertu, than buy this junk. Seriously.
Dec 15th 2008 9:14PM I'm not being racist or anything but has anyone noticed that the majority of people facing foreclosures are African American? I'm not just talking about the people on Luxist, but most of the people I personally know that are facing foreclosure are Afro-American (and I only know a hand full of Afro-Americans).
Could this be a new stereotype?
Dec 15th 2008 5:05PM I hate those weight sensors. There is never space to keep your own stuff, and you can't move anything around to make room or else you'll trigger the sensors.
I only ever use the mini bar when I'm on a quick break for 2-3 days, or on company expenses. Any longer than that then I just buy from a nearby grocery store.
I'm sure the marginal profit from mini bars that come at the expense of reduced guest satisfaction (a mini bar isn't a refrigerating facility!) isn't worth it.
Dec 13th 2008 8:48PM Hopefully there'll be some spare cash from some plastic surgery that she clearly and desperately needs :)
Dec 13th 2008 4:29PM This is a great idea. Every time I sleep overnight at a new place, its always either much better than I originally thought or doesn't live up to expectations.
I think these guys realize that buying a new home is actually like buying a new lifestyle. They're basically letting you test drive a lifestyle before you commit.
