Jan 30th 2009 9:04PM And I thought MY $3000 bike was expensive (people always say "Will... you spent three g's on a bike!!").

Jan 14th 2009 2:29PM TBH their DA40 is a piece of junk. However from what I've heard of their 'D-Jet' it should be nothing short of spectacular.
VLJ's (or a 'personal light jet' as this post calls it) are the future, but because of the current economy they haven't got the attention they deserve.
If your someone that can't afford a conventional jet, with its expenses and all, why not go for a Very Light Jet (VLJ). Lease a bargin-bin hangar, buy a VLJ on a long term instalment program and fly the jet yourself (I'm personally 45 hours towards my licence!!!). Now that's 'Luxe' for cheap.
Versace Says No To Major Discounts {Luxist}
Jan 10th 2009 8:20PM He is absolutely right. Many high-end brands are heavily reducing their prices which in the end ruins their brand image, and will be a serious problem when the economy goes back to normal.
In the UK, many high street stores are heavily discounting their products, which has ruined their image. I no longer think of Marks & Spencer as a high quality retail store, but more of an average place to shop. Burton and Topman (2 large mid-range clothing retailers in the UK) are now considered bargin-bin material because of their heavy discounting.
Ballerhouse's New Custom Pool Tables {Luxist}
Jan 9th 2009 2:19PM I wouldn't say its ugly, because it does have a nice nouveau look. Actually... I think its gorgeous!
But common, $177K for a pool table!!!?! I'm not saying that its a rip off (because it does have diamonds, etc) but thats outrageously expensive. I bet $177k for a pool table would even seem expensive to Billionaire. Also, diamonds on tables just screams tackiness.
Why not remove the diamonds and sell it for $10K (I'd buy it!)?
Soccer Star Crashes Ferrari Into Tunnel Wall {Luxist}
Jan 9th 2009 1:59PM This is typical Deidre post. I'm starting to think that she posts as much stuff as she can to get a cut, resulting in poor quality, high quantity.
People crash their supercars all the time - celebs included. Also, I don't think people come on Luxist to read about stuff like this.
Aloisson Creates A New Most Expensive Phone {Luxist}
Jan 9th 2009 1:52PM Everybody knows that people who buy phones (or anything apart from watches) encrusted in diamonds have absolutely no taste. People with new money buy them to make up for their rough background and lack of class. Stuff like this just screams tackiness.
The image is also just a rendering, so they probably haven't made it nor will definitely make one. I really think Luxist (especially DIEDRE WOOLLARD!) should stop posting junk like this.

Jan 9th 2009 11:40AM That's actually not a bad deal (unlike most of the stuff on Luxist).

Jan 2nd 2009 10:27AM Exchange rates hold steady??
Now £1=$1.44. This time last year it was about £1=$2.00! The GBP to USD exchange rates is also dropping about a cent every week, making things more expensive for Brits buying abroad.
I recently visited the US and Germany and was very disappointed with how many Dollars and Euros I got for my Pounds.
