Jun 8th 2010 10:23PM Taxes are the lowest they've been in 50 years, and US taxes are almost the lowest of any economically developed country. And the "upper classes" pay even less than most people in this country (as a percentage).
So it's also possible that Jim Thorpe is just a cheating crook who got caught refusing to pay even his small share.
Either way, I find that I am once again annoyed with your political intrusions into this escapist web site. When you write like this you sound like an overeager puppy who just wants the rich people to be his friends. How pathetic is that?
Sep 8th 2009 10:58PM Porsche made all sorts of tractors. Didn't damage their brand.
Sep 8th 2009 10:55PM Are you suggesting that the government should have done more to avoid this bankruptcy, or that they should have done less? I'm guessing you think the government should have done less, but then you'd still have this 10 cents on the dollar liquidation of assets, there would just be more worthless assets.
Can win for trying.
Aug 23rd 2009 10:18PM Is this skinned Alapaca, or trimmed alapaca hair?
If it's the first, then someone is going to hell. Go do a google image search for Alpaca and then come back and look at this bag. $2,500 to show that you have no soul.
Aug 7th 2009 12:25AM Another cruddy post from Tom. Snide political references in cigar articles, and now juvenile snickers about a female not living up to his ideals. He's bringing down the whole tenor of the place.
Jul 29th 2009 11:43PM That Landcruiser has (oops, had) a street value of over $3,500, assuming it wasn't a rust bucket.
I understand trading it in. But it was a classic, man. Some of us keep rigs like that running.
Jul 29th 2009 11:30PM Lots of people buying the Prius are already "shopping down" - they could afford to pay more, and probably did for their last car. The fact that the Honda is thousands cheaper yet is probably not a huge incentive.
Jul 21st 2009 9:29PM You're doing a great job mixing up the house styles, Deidre. This summer camp was a nice choice for July.
Jun 20th 2009 11:13PM Looks like a fairly simple stencil filter, then either really printed on a big piece of canvas, or made to look that way. I think Paint.net has a built in stencil filter if you don't have photoshop.
Jun 5th 2009 5:03PM When the robots take over, this will be seen in hindsight as a really bad idea.
My neighbors will then quit bitchin' about my 1975 Jeep Truck, and start asking for help.
It's never to early to plan ahead.
