Still want a Sprinter? 100 Mercedes dealers sign on to sell big van {Autoblog}

Nov 11th 2009 5:18PM This was a knuckle headed move by M-B. These things dont belong in a luxury car dealership. Plus think about service what are the odds that your town will have a dodge dealers compared to Freightliner and M-B dealership. The customer loses here all way round.

VW 1.4-liter Twincharger wins 2009 International Engine of the Year {Autoblog}

Jun 17th 2009 9:09PM I just look at what won and shake my head. How durable will an engine with that many parts be? Then add the fact that it's made by VW it's almost scary.Durability obviously in not all that important. My mechanic made lots of money replacing 1.8T vw's.
New Engine a Porsche Flat 6 ya hmm that is a real departure for Porsche. More displacement and direct injection. Again this is new? More like and upgrade than New.
The upside would be that this sure makes for great discussion and exposure for some engines will will probably never see on this side of the Atlantic.

Cigar Smokers and the Fight for Public Places {Luxist}

May 16th 2009 7:11PM Cigars smokers have been separated and kept to ourselves for years . Not really wanting to infringe on other people's pleasure. Unlike cigarette smokers who would often complain vehemently about any infringement to their right to smoke. Now we are painted with the same brush. And in some jurisdictions we are now criminals considered criminals if we gather at our local cigar shop to enjoy a weekly passion. There is one upside. I can go weeks without a cigar. Not so much with our other smoking brethern.

2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS: In the Autoblog Garage Day 2 {Autoblog}

Mar 11th 2006 3:47AM What I like about the this type of gm cruise control is the it's ability to stay on and only shut off when you move the switch to off. Most autos today you have to implement cruise every time you restart the car.
I use cruise a lot and love this old style switcheree.
I do prefer if the windshield wipers were on a right stalk with an accuation movement parallel to the wheel. Up of a quick cycle and down with detents for speed. Turning off the wipers would also park the wiper instead of what they do now and that is to cycle then park. I dont understand the thinking of why you would cycle wipers when you turn them off.
