Palmetto Bay Resort Planned For Belize {Luxist}

May 18th 2008 12:07PM I am opposed to this project. No talk of "green" construction can make up for the impact of these 6 story, high density buildings on this tiny piece of land. A very dangerous precedent for our peninsula.



Looking at Palmetto Bay's artist rendering, it appears that they have a large piece of land. Reality is that there is an existing house to the north that will be 30 feet or so from the wall of the 6 story building. They will never see sunshine from the south west after it is built. Not very neighborly. Also the buildings are on the only road into or out of the peninsula. Constant traffic less than 100 feet from the buildings.



Speaking of green and neighborly, what sort of wind power are you talking about? Noisy wind turbines?



I am not anti-development but this is the wrong project for this area. There are many condo projects on the drawing board or under construction in the Placencia area. Mostly 2-3 story. Nice and low density. I can only offer this advise, Take the time to do your due diligence and if purchasing anything preconstruction, insist on any deposits being placed in escrow so you have recourse if a project fails.
