Aug 23rd 2008 8:04PM About 50 years ago I bought a dirty 36 inch diameter, 2 inch thick piece of glass for $3.00 at a white elephant sale. I took it home and cleaned it off, and realized it was an old unsilvered reflecting telescope mirror with an 80 inch focal length. I determined that it came from the U Mich Physics Dept. about 1908. I built a redwood support for it and use it as a coffee table. It makes for an interesting conversation piece.

May 3rd 2008 2:38PM I am age 72 and have to make Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from my IRA every year. The penalty for not making the RMD every year is very severe. If I die before making the required RMD this year, do I (or my survivor) still have to make the RMD or pay the penalty?

Apr 9th 2008 9:01PM This happened to me once. A primary wiring harness shorted to the chassis because of skimpy insulation, and the harness started smoking and spontaneously combusted.
