Jan 25th 2011 2:30PM I agree. I just toured Charleston and environs doing ancestry research and found it consistently lovely. Even the area by the old Naval Hospital which is a very poor area today doesn't seem to be as awful as any other city. Naysayers should realize most of the housing across SC is single level homes. So you just don't have the same kind of demographic volume throughout the low country to support large crime statistics as you would in larger cities. I do hear that illegal drugs permeate, along with all that follows, but they occur everywhere. Charleston today is a tourist city more so than a military city as in the past. Do be sure to visit often!

Nov 15th 2010 5:31PM Extend the life of a metal shower curtain by swiping down with 3 in 1 lubricant oil... your shower curtain will move rapidly and quietly open and closed. If the oil is used when the rod is new it should help kept away rusting. A nice alternative to auto waxes.

Jul 30th 2010 1:14AM We rented 2 rooms for family under a WEEKLY stay plan. We decided to make an two night trip to the gulf coast taking clothes. However we our left flight tickets in the room safe. Housekeeping must have thought the room was vacated and cleaned out all our remaining items. Apparently without asking if we actually checked out. The flight ticket should have been a clue? At least that was turned into the front desk; BUT the room was given away! When we returned (with our pass key) walked into a room containing someone else's stuff!!! We could have stolen all their stuff! They double sold the room! Yeah, don't trust even the nicest places!!!!!
