Nov 17th 2009 9:47AM John, I too am against more government involvement in our everyday lives HOWEVER, there have to be laws and regulations to guide and control those that don't have sense enough to be responsible citizens on their own. Not to say that these people are in that category but unfortunately, those people do exist in society. I've got neighbors who train their dogs to be aggressive, starve the animals and then allow their dogs to run at large. The dogs chase people, destroy property and attack other animals. The welfare-grubbing, drug-selling idiots do nothing to control their animals and when someone calls animal control and the animal is carted off and put to death, these a$$es end up with yet another animal a few days later. The a$$es then get mad that someone has butted in their business.

Nov 11th 2009 11:08PM I've worked in retail sales for various companies for 20+ years and always dreaded Christmas time. To be the season of "joy, peace and goodwill" it has always been one of the most traumatic and stressful times for salespeople. Having worked during the era of the Cabbage Patch Kids, Ninja Turtles, etc. I've witnessed salespeople being cursed and physically assaulted by people who probably sat in the front row of their church the following Sunday.

Years ago comedians were funny, truly funny but now it's all sex and vulgarity because they don't have the talent to be just plain funny. MAD TV, SNL, The Family Guy, South Park and other "comedies" are crude and offensive with very little true humor.
