Feb 16th 2011 6:50AM to expand on tvd983- solar/wind generation with deepcycle batteries is viable for home/ev power(blackouts).the inital investment for power generation and the ev would eventually pay over time.new battery technology will increase the power/weight ratio(carbon nanotube/paper) to make an improvement in range. the people who don`t see why these are practical probably like everything in their lives cheap and disposable (diapers,lighters,crap cars,...)mikeymarg- taxes? when has the government had trouble making new ones?koz- the battery box contains seperate packs for motion and acessories. tesla.com when you don`t want war for oil
