Dec 15th 2010 12:37AM My father died 2 years ago after a very long & trying illness. It was terrible, he didn't want to go, our family didn't want him to go, we were all incredibly sad and exhausted.
I dealt with grief with retail therapy. Extreme retail therapy.
Most things were either great, or promptly returned.
HOWEVER, the week he died I purchased a leopard print calf hair fedora. Pre Fall 08 from a luxury retailer. It was expensive and very well made, but it was a Leopard print calf hair fedora.
I am a 39 year old fairly conservative woman. I opened it, and said, "Oh my" and put it back in its hat box and forgot about it. Completely forgot. When I was packing my closet to move to a new home I took some time to look at my hat collection (I live in the Northwest where people don't wear formal hats often and once in a while like to look at my beauties).
I found the hat. So scary, so hilarious, and so much a reminder of the crazy summer my Dad died.
I will never wear the hat, but I have it proudly displayed in my closet as a reminder of my Dad, who would have fainted had he seen me in my pimp hat.
I am sorry if the word pimp upsets anyone, there is no better term to describe without a photo.

Mar 4th 2008 11:53PM i think it was one of the developers. they were $10million in debt from this particular street of nightmares. they didn't find any of the explosive devices that the ELF usually uses. pretty easy to write ELF on something and then burn it down
