Hotel And Event Hosts Sued By Family Of Girl Killed Sliding Down A Banister {Gadling}

Jul 27th 2012 12:16PM As tragic as this death is, the girl did not die because the bannister was faulty and gave way. She died because she was drunk and attempted to do something stupid.

Who made her drink that much? Was she drugged at the party? Did people pour liquor down her throat and then make her get on top of the bannister and slide down it?

There comes a time in life when people must accept responsiblity for their actions.

Now, granted a part based solely on alcohol might not be the best idea. No one, however forced her to drink at all at the party.

Sorry, but I don't think she has a case.

HUD Renegs on Letting Evicted 101-Year-Old Return Home {AOL Real Estate}

Jan 24th 2012 1:35AM What's wrong with the government today that they can't help this poor woman keep her home? This is just the problem with our government, they are so incredibly heartless and cruel. We spent $10 billion dollars a month on the war in Irag, you mean to tell me that Habitat for Humanity can't go and fix up this woman's house?

Contact former President Jimmy Carter's Office and Habitat for Humanity, they ought to be able to help this woman out.

Video: Britney Spears Releases Dance Version of 'Till the World Ends' {PopEater}

Apr 15th 2011 4:07PM Britany is a beautiful girl, but I think that she is hopelessly out of shape. If she did have knee surgery and can't dance anymore then that's ok. That's part of the againg process. When she dances now, she looks like me trying to dance, and since I'm not a professional dancer, or a rock star that's not much.

It's hard to tell why this is the way it is. If her knee is shot, or she's just out of shape and overweight. Still, if she played her cards right, she ought to still be able to do some hip moves. The other problem is that if she doesn't dance the way she used to because of her knees, then she ought to think about changing her songs and her style.

Some of the other singers, like Faith Hill, don't have to dance like because they sing differing types of songs which are actually more musical.

Still, I think Brittany Spears is hot. She just needs to find the right mix now.

Postal Service Proposes Rate Hike {AOL Small Business}

Jul 18th 2010 8:00AM This is a difficult issue for the Post Office, because there is no easy solution. People just aren't using the mail as much anymore. If they want to pay a bill, often times they can pay the bill on line, or check or credit card by phone. People now use the internet to write back and forth and don't write letters because they are simply too slow.
So, as the use of the mail gets less and less the Post Office loses money. Their first instinct is to lay off people and raise their rates.
But a lot of customers are already stretched to the limit and don't want to spend huge amounts of money on postage, so they start to pay even more bills online or with check or credit card by phone, and the higher postage rates will drop the use even further.
What's going to happen eventually is that people will have to go to the post office to pick up their mail and mail delivery to the house might be something that they charge for like garbage service.
At some people you will either have to go to the post office and pay for a post office box or you will have to pay for home delivery.
Now, we pay for cable, telephone and electric and gas service, then ultimately, we will probably have to start paying for home delivered mail. That's the only way out of this mess.
Or, people could elect to just go to the post office and pick up their mail. Or, they will have to reduce delivery days.

Mortgage Defaults More Common Among the Wealthy {Housingwatch}

Jul 9th 2010 4:27PM There is another reason that the wealthy stop paying their mortgages sooner. They know quickly enough that times are bad and they are standing on the deck of the Titanic re-arranging deck chairs.
They know if their businesses have taken a turn for the worse and won't get better anytime soon. Because of that, they realize the value and the benefit of preserving capital at all costs.
If your mortage payment is $800 a month, and you are out of work, eventually you will exhaust your savings and be left with nothing, and then the issue of putting food on the table and so on becomes critical.
Further, the wealthy know that banks can do basically anything they want to do. They can lower the interest rate, reduce your mortage payments temporarily and so on. And, they aren't afraid to ask the bank to do this.
If the banks were a whole lot more reasonable, people would be a whole lot more hesitant about walking away from a loan.
The wealthy realize that they can survive no matter what. The people without money are more easily frightened by the banks.
The reality is, the banks should help out both the rich and the pooer and make life simpler during these difficult economic times.
But, the choice is simple and clear. If, in your heart of hearts, you are out of work, and you don't have prospects of a job anytime soon, why exhaust your savings?
The wealthy understand the benefits of conserving capital at all costs.
Finally, if your house is underwater, and you have no hope to repay your loan, why destroy yourself financially? The bank out to work with you not against you and help you out.

Geico Announcer Loses Job By Voicing Opinion {AOL Jobs}

Apr 29th 2010 8:35AM How stupid that guy was. Why didn't he keep his big mouth shut? His voice mail wasn't even that intelligent to begin with.
Sorry, the guy got what he deserved. If your in the public eye, keep your mouth shut! That is, of course, unless you have so much money that you don't care what people think. If I was this guy's manager I would have put my foot right up his Heine as high as it could go.
Actors have no business getting involved in politics. What does he care what these groups think as long as he can go to the bank with a nice pay check?
He was wrong, and now he's paid the price. With e-mails today, blogs and twitter, you can't fart wrong that someone doesn't know about it, and won't have an opinion on it!

Whitney Houston's Worst Enemy? Her Biggest Hit {PopEater}

Apr 27th 2010 5:48AM Whitney House needs to work with a voice coach. The poor woman is one of the greatest talents of the century, but her own excesses are finally doing her in. She has taken her voice for granted for years, and now her use of drugs might be causing her to have emphysema. My father who was a doctor used to say that everyone carried the seeds of their own destruction.
Unfortunately, Whitney Houston has a great talent, but she doesn't know enough to take care of herself and knock off her wild life style. I think that this is a problem with a lot of stars.
They can't handle the guilt over their successes and they can't handle the huge amounts of money that they make.
It is tragic. Had she taken herself and her talent seriously, she would have protected her self better.
Now, if she did work with a voice coach or an opera coach, I'm sure she could learn how to sing those high notes again.
The years and years of excess and high living are unfortunately starting to take their toll. And, it really is sad.
I bare Whitney Houston no malice; only a fervant wish that she would take her talent and her artistry seriously and stop her excesses before it's too late.
Smoking crack can and does cause emphysema and will affect her God given voice.

The Sad Story of the Man Who Leaked 'Wolverine' {Moviefone Blog}

Jan 16th 2010 3:26PM The guy needs to take responsibility for what he did and own his behavior. How can he be scapegoated for breaking the law and getting caught?
Why would he post the film on the internet? The FBI needs to make an example of him to put a dent into this bootleg trafficking of movies.

The Sad Story of the Man Who Leaked 'Wolverine' {Moviefone Blog}

Jan 16th 2010 3:13PM The guy is 47 years old and he broke the law. He was old enought to realize that he shouldn't have posted the movie on the site. Now watching the moview with his grand kids probably wasn't such a big deal, but he STOLE the intellectual property of the studio. How would he have felt had he written a book and someone stole a bootleg copy and then posted it on the internet.
He literally cheated the studio out of the revenues for that film.
Sorry, I think he ought to pay a fine or do some community service. Posting the movie to the internet was certainly not necessary.

What Tiger Inc. needs to do to save a $100 million-a-year empire {Daily Finance}

Dec 10th 2009 7:24AM Who cares what Tiger Woods does or does not do?
I think all the professional athletes are losers. They think that just because they are good something that entitles them to misbehave. Too bad they don't give a prize or the public is not impressed with people who are just plain good human beings.
Anyone can cheat on their wife. And anyone can offer excuses. If Tiger doesn't like being married, then let him divorce his wife and then play around! He should lose his celebrity endorsements for this kind of sleazy behavior.
