Who Is Esperanza Spalding, Grammy Best New Artist Winner? {PopEater}

Feb 14th 2011 12:40AM Okay. I see most of you don't get it. This is not like American Idol or the American Music Awards. It's not a popularity contest. These awards are based on an artist's merit. They're also judged by well informed musicians and industry professionals of all genres of music. Popularity, nor record sales aren't the defining factor in talent. If it was purely based on that, then Justin would win hands down. It obviously isn't. Thank God the Grammy's understand this.

Esperanza Spalding Wins Best New Artist in Grammy Surprise {Spinner}

Feb 14th 2011 12:17AM Just because you don't know someone doesn't mean they're not talented or shouldn't get the award. For the naysayers, unlike the American Music Awards or American Idol, the Grammys is based on an Artist's merit, not anything else. It is not a popularity contest like the other shows. If the American public would step outside their comfort zones and get educated about music, you might find out there's more to it than a girly looking boy.

Akon Praises Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Songwriting: 'She's Not Just Making Dance Records' {PopEater}

Feb 11th 2011 8:14PM Here's a thought. If you want people to pay attention to the lyrics moreso than the costumes, stop dressing over the top. Seems simple to me.

Joan Rivers Reams Christina Aguilera Over Star-Mangled Banner {PopEater}

Feb 8th 2011 9:40AM No. She wasn't caught up "in the moment of the song", she was caught up into how many riffs and runs she can do. That's why she forgot the lyrics. She's still so busy proving she can sing soulfully that she misses the point about singing with soul. It's not something that is forced like she does. All she had to do is sing the song as it is and that would've been enough. Some of the young singers always think they have to do more than is required. The thing is Christina isn't as young as she was when she first started out. You would think she would know better by now.

Dolce & Gabbana Talk Madonna Fall 2010 Ad Campaign {Stylelist (Main)}

Jul 13th 2010 8:09PM I wonder what some of you look like who comment about how old someone is or their looks in general. It's easy to type on a keyboard and talk trash but what do you all do in your daily lives? As far as her trying to look young, it's clear that most of you don't know diddly squat about the entertainment industry or you would know it's still driven by youth. How you look is part of the deal particularly for an Icon such as Madonna. Women definitely have it harder in this industry as is evident from some of the posters here.

Has Mel Gibson Ruined His Career for Good? {PopEater}

Jul 2nd 2010 1:50PM NNick12aa, You all have been doing the same thing for YEARS and I mean YEARS so don't go there.

Jason Bateman Apologizes for Being a Jerk, We Decide If He's Guilty or Not {Switched}

Jun 30th 2010 6:04PM It always strikes me as funny for laypeople, who no one knows at all, to call an entertainer a has been or say they're no one. They're obviously someone or we wouldn't take the time to write "such n' such who?" or really write anything at all. I know a lot of it comes from jealousy. It's very interesting to have people who never were talk about celebrities as has beens or nobodys. I think it says more about ourselves than it does about the celebrities.

Remembering Lena Horne: An Iconic Talent and True Trailblazer {PopEater}

May 10th 2010 11:37PM You grow up in the 40's through Jim crow and all the other discriminating institutions that were in place for her and tell me how you would feel. You have no idea and could not even imagine what blacks of that generation went through. You would probably have some hate in your heart too after all that. Most don't know the history and once again prove how ignorant they are.

Rufus Wainwright 'Bans' Audience Clapping During Live Shows {Spinner}

Apr 22nd 2010 10:50PM I see some of you don't get it. As one person posted, there are places in the world where when they go to see a performance, they wait until the music is completed, then they clap. Stop internalizing this. It's really not that deep.
I see people all the time who go to concerts and don't seem to know the proper etiquette to the point of talking loudly while an artist performs. I know that's not quite the same as this but obviously there's a reason and it's not for what some of you think which is that he's another spoiled artist. Stop going immediately into defense mode and found out why.

Oprah's Long Goodbye Begins With Tears {PopEater}

Nov 22nd 2009 11:33AM Wow! I can't believe we're in 2009 and we're still dealing with white sour pusses mad about having a man of color as President and calling Oprah a racist? That's rich! It just shows how ignorant some of you still are. As many times as you all have voted for someone based on their skin color (white), you have the nerve now to throw it back at Oprah? What a bunch of hypocrites!
