Mar 8th 2009 8:25PM If nurses are needed then hospitals need to treat nurses better. Instead of worrying about administrative costs, they need to pay nurses better and stop abusing them. I worked as a critical care nurse for 18 years at a south central Illinois hospital. Our pay was poor, we were over-worked and under staffed. We were pulled to evey department in the hospital regardless if we were certified for the area and used as nurses aides. I was a well trained critical care nurse but quit several years ago. They stopped paying premium pay for holidays, worked us to the point of being dangerous and treated us poorly while administration raised their own pay and treated themselves to elaborate parties and perks. I would not recommend nursing to any young woman under the circumstances. I loved being a nurse--it was all I ever wanted to do but I am very disallusioned by heath care and the way they do business. When I became a nurse, it was all about patient care. Now it's about the bottom line!!1

Jan 7th 2009 2:03PM Ann Coulter looks as though she is taking something or has a serious psychological disorder. There are a lot of successful people that were raised by a single mother. Perhaps the problem has more to do with deteriorating inner cities the lack of programs designed to get children involved in their community and off the streets. Oh, I forgot--Ann and her right wing crowd don't believe in those kind of social programs.
