Sep 10th 2010 4:04PM As a former Restaurant owner, I would simply go to the parents of the infants crying and ask to walk around with them while they enjoyed thier dinner. I was never refused and it was a great solution. I love children and enjoyed it ,so all was happy.
My biggest beef was the elderly who could not seem to make it to the restroom to do thier thing. They would leave a trail and mess in the chairs and the floor along the way UGHHHHHH !!!!!
As for ages 2 to 12 , never had problems with them.

Jun 30th 2010 2:03AM I tend to stay at safe locations and in motels where I can unload items directly from my car. I believe any rate above $75.00 a night is a waste of money. I have found almost all my rooms a 3* and no problems have occurred. Oh and get this !!!! The low paid hard working staff do get a tip left in the room if it is really clean. I stayed on Christmas Eve one time and the next day I called the front desk and asked if the housekeeper who prepared my room was on duty, and yes she was. I got her name and walked to the laundry room and located her....told her Merry Christmas and gave her a $50.00 cash tip, and thanked her for the clean room. Turned out to be a woman around 60yrs old, she got tears in her eyes and that really made me feel good. I had a great Christmas just knowing she needed that money more than I did. I also complimented her to the desk clerk to relay to management for a job well done . All people are not looking for freebies and upgrades, just a clean place to sleep.

May 13th 2010 3:34PM 30 years ago.....I was caught chewing a piece of gum in 8th grade science class. My punishment was to stand in the hall with my feet and shoulders against the wall, and that piece of gum stuck on my nose, while all the other students changing classes laughed and made fun of me. I cried afterwards and never told my parents. I still remember it as if it were today.
Leave the kids alone......and worry more about drugs and guns !!!!!

May 24th 2008 6:49PM ok everyone, I just happened across this blog and became interested on the subject. I worked in a state prison, medium security, males only(I am female).
Yes the inmates have alot of time on thier hands with nothing to do. The ones who have families support for monies add this to thier inmate accounts, just like a banking system. The inmates have a canteen(groceries, tv's stero's, head phones, calling cards (for the phones)etc, etc. They are forced by Law to get a GED before they are released from prison. That is the ONLY thing that can be forced as the Legal System does not allow any other issues. Those who do not have TV's in thier rooms are allowed to go to the Dining Halls after hours and watch the BigScreen TV provided. They may also go to the Gym and play a variety of card games, foose ball, lift weights, play basketball, handball, boxing, band equipment, track field, baseball field, get hair cuts, or just hang out. They receive free Medical, Dental, and outside Hospital Visits as needed, etc. They had free Vocational classes/ and some College classes. Welding, Electrical Wiring, Plumbing, Building Maintence, Air/Heat, Refrigeration, auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, electronics, drafting, etc.
I feel as if I am writing a book, and yes that is a thought. The prison system has a long history....the good, the bad, and the ugly, and very much about Politics.

Yet I must say, as a woman of 52yrs that this will never happen.....why???? Because we live in a world dominated by the power of men...who create the Rule's...which we continue to abide under....That is what we HAVE to change... as women helping other women. Let Women Rule for awhile. Vote For Hillary Clinton !!!

Feb 22nd 2008 4:41PM I moved to an area 5 years ago(the twilight zone) and to my suprise they start popping out babies around the age of 14 to 19 like it is the proper thing to do. ALL of them are on the Welfare programs and scream for more assistance !!! Their so called parents are doing the same, not to mention they seem to be able to steal property and resell it from the working class to pay for their ciggs, alcohol, meth, pot, etc. They use profanity, always fighting physically(with & without weapons) they are on probation, served time in the prison systems, and continue to live this LifeStyle. They do not take care of their children nor their pets. I keep the sheriff's department wheels rolling in this area often, and yes some are back in prison, but, they are replaced by new neighbors just like the ones before them. I call it the circus for the entertainment they provide.
We do need to do something besides support these idots.
