Lohan Sees Hypnotist for Shopping Problem - Maybe {Luxist}
Jun 3rd 2006 10:30PM To many people who have turned to hypnosis with a serious need to change, it is seen as nothing short of miraculous. Please don't confuse scientific hypnosis with "stage" hypnosis or "hollywood" zombie-style hypnosis. For several years now, there has existed brain imagery evidence which points to the fact that a person under hypnosis is actually in a particular state of mind that bypasses the usual decision-making neural pathways. As such, the hypnotized person has a heightened suggestibility, that is, she more readily accepts new ideas into her usual, automatic thought patterns. There is nothing "New Age" about it, either. In fact, hypnosis is not new at all. Modern scientific hypnosis can be traced to the Abbe Faria in the late 18th century who called it "lucid sleep". Please don't dismiss this remarkable tool for change, so available to the person who suffers from destructive thinking beyond her reach. Thanks for the opportunity to post.
